The Patriots had tight end Aaron Hernandez at practice for the second straight day on Thursday, but those looking for certainty about his status for Sunday’s game against the Bills will have to wait a little bit longer.

Hernandez spent more time talking about the birth of his daughter than he spent talking about his ankle. He said he can’t be “young and reckless Aaron” now that he’s a father, although we imagine the decision about whether or not to play this weekend will be unchanged by the new arrival in his life. Hernandez did get back to his ankle for a little bit when asked if he’d be playing on Sunday.

“Game-time. That’s it,” Hernandez said, via Phil Perry of CSNNE.com.

Practicing both days is a good sign for Hernandez. He was taking days off in the weeks leading up to the bye and then had a setback that led to him missing the game against the Rams in London. The Patriots offense has hummed along well without Hernandez for much of the season, but a healthy return just might lead to the improvement that Tom Brady’s been looking for recently.
