Getty ImagesA 3-5 record over the first half of the season hasn’t killed the Jets’ confidence.
Jets cornerback Antonio Cromartie said on NFL AM that he still believes the Jets are a playoff team, and his teammates are confident and buying into what coach Rex Ryan is doing, too.
“The Jets will make the playoffs this year,” Cromartie said. “We believe in each other, we believe in what coach Ryan and his staff is putting us to schemes and stuff, so we’re definitely going to make the playoffs this year.”
Realistically, it’s hard to justify Cromartie’s confidence: The Jets are two games behind the Patriots and one game behind the Dolphins in the AFC East, and they’re two games behind both the Steelers and the Colts in the wild card race. It’s not impossible to overcome a 3-5 start and get to the playoffs, but it’s awfully hard, and the Jets haven’t done much in the first half of the season to suggest that they’re on the verge of a turnaround. This looks like a prediction that’s based more on bravado than on a realistic assessment of where the Jets are heading.

Well damn….I wish Webster’s Dictionary had told me that the definition of “this year”, now means “never”
Antonio Cromartie 9 times: “Don’t worry baby baby I’ll pull 0u-OOPs”
He’s as delusional as his Head Coach.
And with that comment, hello 0-8 in the second half Rex junior !
whatever, just like fat rex said jets were going to the SB last yr and this year saying this is the “best roster I’ve ever had.” talk is cheap, losers
please let this team get to 7 losses.
“This looks like a prediction that’s based more on bravado than on a realistic assessment…” Ya think?
So will the Jags Antonio!
Shanahan says the Jets are playing for next year’s jobs.
LoL. That’s the funniest thing I’ve heard this year.
What is he supposed to say?
and it starts again……..every week we get the guarantees from Cromartie, Rex, Jerrah and Robbie Ryan that they are going to win, going to the playoffs, winning the SB, blah blah blah and there are only 2 guarantees that you can really take to the bank. 1. they are all full of b.s. and 2. PFT will make sure to give their asinine remarks ink and space.
I wonder what Tim Tebow thinks about Cromartie’s kids?
Antonio, stop listening to the little voices. Or in your case: the eleven little voices.
… and Romney will win in a landslide. Count on it.
Joe Namath does NOT approve Cromartie’s message.
In Cro’s defense the Jets have played very well this year. They have lost winnable games to the Texans, 49ers, Steelers and Pats. They also lost to the Dolphins. With mediocre QB play they would have likely won everyone of those games. The problem is not the team or the effort its that Mark Sanchez is beyond terrible. He misses wide open receivers on 3rd down all day long leaving the defense out n he field all day until they crack.
The defense has played well before cracking for being left on the field all day, the line has given Sanchez time, the receivers have done a good job catching what they can of Sanchez’s errant passes and they have been wide open most games as defenses simply do not bother covering them anymore as there is little chance Sanchez can get them the ball.
The Jets schedule eases up the last 8 games but they need Sanchez to step up and stop losing games for them. They also need to the defense to play lights out.
While its possible the Jets go on a run. They are a very good team. It is much more probable that they crack, give up, implode, fall apart and come in 6-10.
Name all your kids. Then I’ll be impressed.
Antonio, ahem, you’re tied for last place in the AFC east. Hello, anyone home? The truth is calling. LOL
Only if Tebow starts
Yep the Jets make the playoffs this year in Madden 13
Cromartie must have moved to Colorado.
He let the cat out of the bag. Tebow’s starting.
Life is returning to normal in the NY area. Times Square is open, Broadway is running again, and the Jets are talking a bunch of garbage they don’t even believe.
I wonder what this gasbag will have to say on the way home from Seattle with his 3-6 team.
That’s Cromartie’s prediction, and here is mine.
Antonio Cromartie will make another baby this year.
They have an easy schedule after the Hawks, of course they need to play the games and that is where they will have trouble. Bill
Well at least they are not already looking ahead to next year like other teams players and coaches. Whether or not they should be is another question.
Make the playoffs or the jackoffs?
peep this throwing blows on some yanymean… EVEN if they had they 2 best players “The Isle” and pot tokin tone I wouldn’t believe this fertilizer. and really doe son they might have to turn to queerbo to get it poppin thun. but neffs ike cromartie might have a bigger mouth than tuck cruz and nicks and his own head coach gas bag tummy tuck sexy rexy knocka you dig
Yeah right, and you’ll play the Eagles in the Superbowl…what a joke!
is it possible that jets fans arent bothered by all the talking this team does, while permanently incapable of backing any of it up
the jets are 0 and 13 trillion in predictions
Completely sums up the Jets problems. They really do believe this stuff. Everything is on the right track, the QB is great, no need to make any adjustments, those wins are just going to start happening any day now…
Here we go, how many corny jokes or comments about Cro having 200 kids can we have before the day is over? Memo to the non funny people who continue to say it over and over, it’s not clever or original, just played out. It was funny in 2010.
The only way that happens is if teams tank and Sanchez starts to play like an average QB
Plus, he is probably counting on that extra money to pay child support with anyways
This team talks the talk from Monday to Saturday. And then they don’t show up on Sunday.

how was the Steelers and 9ers pasting of the Jets winnable games?
Focus on learning how to tackle Crow
The Jets play at Seattle this week and the Seahawks are undefeated at home this season. If they lose on Sunday they’ll be 3 and 6 and need to win at least 6 of their last 7 to make the payoffs.
They should try winning their next game before talking playoffs.
Jets playing in the NBA this year?
Do Madden playoffs count?
