The Chargers won’t be moving to LA, nor will any other team, because the financial numbers don’t pan out. In order to move a team to LA that team’s owner will have to pay an estimated $600 million Relocation Fee. If the team wants to move to an AEG-built stadium, that team also needs to give a Minority share (at below market value) to AEG. Simply put, the numbers don’t pan out no matter what a cave dweller like JoeToronto says.

San Diego had no blackouts for 9 years. This is a football town. We just don’t like seeing a bad pieced together product. Like now.

I would hate to see the Chargers leave. This mayor seems stupid. How about talking to the Chargers first instead of blabbing your mouth. Running the Chargers out of San Diego is not something I would want on my résumé.

San Diego had no blackouts for 9 years. This is a football town. We just don’t like seeing a bad pieced together product. Like now.

LA doesn’t want the Chargers, and we don’t want them to move. LA is full of Raider and Ram’s fans, and don’t forget the NFL failed epically there too.

The Spanos make plenty of money here, that’s not the issue. The issue is that they want a new stadium, with this team in this economy its not going to happen.

But they won’t move. Goodell even stated that he want’s the Chargers in San Diego. Time will tell.

Get the Raiders & Rams back there and lets get football back to the way it used to be AND SHOULD BE. Lets face it Oakland is the trailor trash capital of the U.S. , and St. Louis is a baseball town, NOT a football city. The 2nd biggest market needs these 2 teams back, and how sick would it be if the Rams rocked out the old school yellow/blue jersey all year long?? DO IT MR. GOODELL!!

What league rule would that be?

If the team ownership went through the legal hurdles and mumbo jumbo that is required I see no reason that the public can’t become partial owners.

The Packers are a publicly owned non-profit organization. That’s actually against Article 3.2A of the membership rules for the NFL, but the Packers are okay because they’ve been publicly owned since 1923. I see no reason why it should be against the rules for everyone else.

I’ve said on here many times. Pass a carefully worded departure tax where any buisness that operates in a publically funded building must live out any lease and give a five year notice of wanting to depart or pay a stiff fine based on recovering the cost of the facility.

It would immediately stop all sports teams using moving as a weapon.

Los Angeles Doesnt need a football team, they had three teams! including the Chargers. Plus California has 49ers, Raiders and Chargers. I rather see Texas get another franchise.

The new mayor is knuckle head, this should be a county issue and not just City of San Diego, majority of the people go the the games are from outside the city. We just end up here watching what that broke and corrupt city does and have no say.

Would be a bummer if they leave, but hey downtown LA is only 1.5 hrs away

For the life of me I cannot understand why they would want to stay in San Diego. They cannot sell out games and the value of the franchise would double in the LA market. Alex Spanos was one heck of a buisiness man but his son Dean leaves alot to be desired. Even if the team practice field stayes here they should be the LA Chargers and use some of that money to sign some great players like other teams do. Many San Diegans are fed up with this team.

Does the revenue generated from people coming to town count as giving something back to the city and its taxpayers? Businesses benefit from selling hotel rooms, fuel, meals, etc. and the stadium sells parking and concessions. What, does the team need to give everyone in the city a dollar?
