Did Wade just give you his defensive game plan in a nutshell? Or is this smoke and mirrors?

I think the Bears are going to lose this game unless they step up the involvement of their backfield. Houston will score on Chicago, they have to be able to reduce Houston’s possessions and answer on Offense when they do score. This is a great D, great Special Teams, but the offense is a straight liability they way they are playing right now. This team reminds me of the 06 Bears except this one has a boat load more potential on offense. Their O is going to have to execute at some point.

The Bears, much like the Texans have benefited so far from a fairly weak schedule. Both have lost to the same team, both have only beaten 2 winning teams, and both have great defenses. Neither team has seen a defense like they are about to see though. I’ll tip my cap to the Bears D as the better of the two but Bear’s fans need to realize that the Texan’s O is the better of the two. The Bears D relies on takeaways more than any other defense in the league and they are going against an offense that is very good at taking care of the football.

As much as Bears fans worry about Tillman not playing, the Texans worry about Owen Daniels not playing. Daniels is a speedster TE that isn’t coverable by a LB. He presents mismatches every week for Matt Schaub and he is the #1 target on the team. he currently has a hip issue but as he’s a Naperville native I can’t see him missing this one.

The weather is going to be a factor, forecast is cold and wet which surely favors the Bears. Should be a very good, close game and I expect it will be decided late in the 4th by a kicker.

As a Bear fan Philips is absolutely right. If Cutler can’t get the ball to other receivers the offense will struggle. JJ Watts is a beast going against an offensive line that may show up or may not. I’ll be watching but possibly covering my eyes on some plays.

I heard this morning that the texans players and coaches were calling this the most important game in the franchises history….. I guess that tells you everything you need to know when one team thinks its their Super Bowl and can hardly contain themselves on press day and just start spewing the gameplan to an open mic.. The other team is all like steady as she goes, lets take this business trip and take care of things.

By the way Wade, everyone has been doubling Marshall and he’s still getting all the love from Cutler he wants!! Well, I guess not everyone had him doubled. The cowboys remembered that zero coverage package you installed and left Marshall 45% of the middle of the field to jog down the seam for six!!!! See ya Monday Wade!!

The bears have beaten one winning team this season – the 5-3 Indianapolis Colts in game one of Andrew Lucks NFL career. That’s it.

They’ve played one good defense – the Green Bay Packers and Cutler got his ass handed to him.

I think Houston gets to Cutler and the bears defense which gives up a very unremarkable 4.3 yds per carry gets lit up by the Houston run game and Shaub play actions for a couple f deep throws.

Tice has adjusted to the “bracket” coverage since the Packers game. He’s countered it by putting Marshall underneath, in the slot, and down the middle of the field. It’s worked out quite nicely since the debacle in Lambeau.

I can not wait until sunday night. If peanut plays, put him on Johnson and Jennings on Walter for the first drive and feel out how well the Bears front seven handle that massive running attack. I am a huge Bears fan, but I am not sure if the offensive line is up for the task.

It’s a shame that Ashlon Jeffery isnt playing because he was coming along nice and Bears can certainly use him.
He seems like a natural WR unlike Hester but The Bears will have Bennett and maybe the TE’s might play a role. Let Texans focus on BM then Forte and Bush will kill them, they are weak up the middle since Cushing been gone!!!!!

The Texans sure do yap a lot for a team that has won 1 playoff game in 11 years. Wade Phillips, who we all know is a joke of a head coach, just lit the fire under the rest of the Bears offense. Bears are going to hit them in the mouth early and often.
