Goodell, sorry ... Gotohell was at the game, and I am sure he did all he could to sway his way against Pitt.

As Tomlin said, "I don't try to figure it out anymore, we just move forward"

Clearly a different set of rules is becoming clear. How often does Ben take an illegal hit with no call?

You can breathe wrong on Brady, Eli, and even Cam and 15 yards.

Bothered fan.

You folks are being too kind. The Giants were gifted 14 points by the refs, not 11 points. Remember, they never would have been in the position for the bogus Clark penalty if there had not been a bogus pass interference penalty on Keenan Lewis a few plays prior. I believe that moved the ball over 40 yards.

On replay, it can be seen that Lewis made a spectacular defensive play. Whatever minor incidental contact was no different that what happens on essentially every passing play in every game and is typically not considered a penalty. Being a judgement call, you have to defer to the official, but 95 times out of 100, an official will not call a penalty for such contact.

That call gave Giants 4 extra points. Without penalty Giants would of kicked field goal, plus Bens fumble that wasen't a fumble and again the block in the back to Heath Miller that wasen't called gave the Giants another 7 points totaling 11 points.
So Sanders gets fined for a fake that stopped the clock, but Cruz walks from a fake that turned 4th own into 1st and goal?

Take your idiotic "butthurt" statements and stick them where they, we'll you know.

This is not about whining, this is about consistency with enforcement of the rules. One faker only stopped a clock and got fined, the other earned a sure touchdown and is not even discussed.

Manchester United, heck that Cruz kid could hang in the Spanish league! Move over Christiano Ronaldo!

Helmet to helmet hits should be subject to replay review. They aren't a judgement call, you either hit a player with your helmet or you don't. It's ridiculous to possibly risk the outcome of a game on something that may or may not have happened.

First of all, Cruz got the wind knocked out of him, and clearly stated it in his face to face interview the next day.

Second of all, Cruz stated it was a clean hit, and stated his head was fine.

Was the official supposed to run over to the downed player and ask what was wrong?

All you Steeler fans are so butt hurt over getting screwed. Your team layed cheap shot after cheap shot over the years, and now, like the Lions, refs are trigger happy.

Go cry about it. You won the game. Move on and focus on winning your division, so you don't get Tebowed again this year.

Good take, but one distinction: Clark was penalized, but he was't fined.

As we all know, the refs blew the call - and it could have been very costly. It could have kept two deserving teams out of the playoffs (i.e., PIT and possibly some NFC team screwed by the Giants victory), and got two more in (i.e., NYG and possibly some AFC team benefiting from a Steeler loss).

And YES, you're absolutely right - it is a goofy notion (to be kind) that it's somehow acceptable to "err on the side of protecting the players." That's a very lame cop-out.

How about if the League just tries to get it right, and doesn't rationalize obvious botched idiocy as if they have some higher purpose. Just get the calls right, without some preconceived lens directing to throw flags and ask questions later.

Now how about fining Cruz for faking a head injury on the play to draw a flag?

The guy was rolling around on the ground like he played for Manchester United instead of the Giants.

No doubt Cruz’s reaction to the hit caused the ref to throw the flag- and dont forget, Cruz didnt miss a down after that play even though he was said to have had “bruised ribs” afterwards.

That horrible call gave the Giants a 1st and goal instead of a 4th down. Where is the outrage over this on the same day a Steeler gets fined for faking an injury as well?

Sounds like you've never taken a hard hit to the ribs. I've had 2 ribs broken on 1 side at the same time and trust me the pain is excruciating.. It's also hard to breathe .. Cruz didn't come back until after halftime btw

Between that flag and the bogus fumble return TD the refs gave the G-men 11 points (assuming they get the FG on 4th instead of the Clark penalty)...and they STILL lost! Thankfully so.
