As a Pats fan, I’m not the biggest EM fan but I think he’s the only one of Bill’s guys who is actual HC material. Cleveland shouldn’t have fired him IMO.

Eric Mangini is an extremely underrated coach. Aside from the Vernon Gholston debacle, Mangini was a great talent evaluator. You know those Jets fans who can’t seem to let go of the fact that they made back-to-back AFC Championship Game APPEARANCES? The same fans that brag about those APPEARANCES despite the fact that they don’t even have merely a division title to show for them? Well, those teams made it as far as they did with Mangini’s players, not Rex Ryan’s players. In the 2 years since then, Rex Ryan & Mike Tannenbaum completely butchered a roster that was rife with talent & depth, and replaced it with a top-heavy, depthless team that can’t get out of its own way. The only reason Mangini didn’t succeed as a head coach was because of the jokes of franchises he was employed by. The only franchise that challenges the Jets as the most incompetent franchise in the NFL is the Cleveland Browns. Had Mangini been given more time with the Jets, maybe 2 more years, the Jets probably would’ve done more than only appearing in AFC Championship Games, they probably would’ve won one or two, and very well might have another Vince Lombardi Trophy to add to their tarnished, lonely, single trophy sitting in the case in Florham Park. Just listen to Mangini on ESPN; he is probably the only analyst on that channel that knows what he is he talking about.

Ernie Acorsi is the guy who laid the foundation for the current success of the NY Giants. Acorsi is one of the best football minds around & is a great talent evaluator. Acorsi also hand-picked Jerry Reese as his successor with the Giants, so he has a good track record with picking general managers. The only thing that would be better for the Panthers would be for Acorsi to recommend himself the Richardson to become the Panthers’ next GM. If you are trying to model your franchise after the Giants, there isn’t a better person to head the process of selecting the next GM of the Panthers than the man who started the Giants’ soon-to-be-recognized dynasty.
