Sproles, Strief out for Saints against Falcons

Darren Sproles, Will Herring AP

The Saints will be without four players, including running back Darren Sproles and right tackle Zach Strief, when they face the Falcons Sunday.

Defensive end Junior Galette (ankle) and wide receiver Courtney Roby (shoulder) also have been ruled out, according to Larry Holder of the New Orleans Times-Picayune.

This is the second absence for Sproles with a broken hand, and Strief could be out for some time as well.

Saints interim coach Joe Vitt said Strief was on his way back from seeing a specialist about a sports hernia. Vitt said he didn’t know if Strief would need surgery.

@nolaisadump That’s rich coming from a team who is unable to win a playoff game. I’d take one bad season over being perineal chokers any day.
