Unlike the Giants the Jets made their donation without a press release…jets showed class, while the giants wanted to recognized. That game against Pitt was a slap in the face to all the victims…the game should have been played later in the week or in Pitt, like when the nfl made the saints travel to the giants after hurricane Katrina (the could have played in Dallas or LSU)…..

I think it would be a good idea if all the major news organizations would each donate $1,000,000 to the Red Cross to help the victims of hurricane Sandy. NBC can start it off and then all the others would feel obligated to contribute just as Mike Florio is suggesting the NFL teams do.

Mike Brown wouldn’t contribute if the storm wiped out Southern Ohio, let alone somewhere 600 miles a way.

It’s funny to me that when the Giants did this right after the storm a bunch of people started yelling about how cheap they were for only giving 500,000 however no one says anything here. Being from the area that was hit by the storm I thank each and everyone who gives anything no matter how big or small. I do agree however that it was a little slow coming from them.

While I would like it if every team contributed, I must ask why so many people think it is mandatory. I don’t remember every team being “required” to contribute after other disasters. Did every team contribute on its own after Katrina, for example? If so, great; if not, this looks like just another example of one set of rules for my native Northeast and one for the peasants.

And yes, I’ve contributed on my own.

Kudos to every NFL franchise that has contributed to the “storm relief” cause. Let’s hope the rest follow suit.
