When your a ball carrier your not protected by those rules. Thats why I feel they should have picked up the flag on the defense. Its not his fault Cutler made in illegal pass. So he shouldn’t be penalized for it.

RBs that go out on a screen and no one gets picked up and get blasted in the same manner, and they don’t the benifit of that.

Its illegal for him to throw. So from what I understand of the rules, its a clean legal hit.

Well, I wouldn’t expect a quarterback to slide when he’s trying to throw the ball. He got hurt on the play when he got speared throwing to Hester, not when he ran a few plays later.
