Anyone who calls Cutler a quitter or a wimp is dense. I've seen that guy take a real clobbering some games.

Nothing personal Bears fans, but some games your O-line doesn't protect him very well.

Anyway - even when the Bears O-line doesn't show up and Cutler takes a beating, he doesn't quit. He still fights to keep them in games.

It will be interesting to see when he can come back. They've become a lot more careful about concussions. It's not like the old days when he could say, "I'm Batman!" but they'd let him play anyway if he could remember the plays.

Oh, so you can run up and spear any random player on the field? He didn’t have the ball, so I think you’re understanding of the rules is incorrect.
_____________

If he was behind the line and thier helmets hit like as it appears in the replay. Flag it and I can understand.

When your a ball carrier your not protected by those rules. Thats why I feel they should have picked up the flag on the defense. Its not his fault Cutler made in illegal pass. So he shouldn't be penalized for it.

RBs that go out on a screen and no one gets picked up and get blasted in the same manner, and they don't the benifit of that.

Even though Cutler was knocked out of the game the Bears still had the advantage by the slimmest, because of the game conditions. Houstons used to the nice weather and we NFC North folk thrive and excel in rainy, snowy, and bone chilling cold weather (We are known for this). Granted losing Cutler was a loss, but Campbell is probably one of the best back-ups in the league, and could probably start for a few teams. Campbell is a little step down from Cutler, granted you could argue how little Campbell knows the Bears system. Lets be honest though, even knowing that little about the system Campbell did play better than Cutler tonight, but ultimately they stand a better chance with Cutler and his knowledge of the team and system. It will be interesting next week when you have the 49ers and Bears where both QB's suffered a concussion. Will the starters be playing? The 49ers will lose for sure without Smith, but the Bears can win without Cutler against San Fran due to the QB issues on both sides. Campbell is miles better than San Frans back up.

“It was a clean hit, because Cutler didn’t slide. He was considered a runner”

Well, I wouldn’t expect a quarterback to slide when he’s trying to throw the ball.

“It was a clean hit, because Cutler didn’t slide. He was considered a runner”

Well, I wouldn’t expect a quarterback to slide when he’s trying to throw the ball.

Its illegal for him to throw. So from what I understand of the rules, its a clean legal hit.

Three players who continued to play after getting concussions today (that we know of). League is going to be PISSED and I wouldn't be surprised if they find someway to punish the teams for violating the player safety rules. And they should. Anything less than a $250,000 fine would be a joke. (and used against them in court to shown they really don't care about player safety).

I also wouldn't be surprised if all the teams got was a sternly written letter telling them not to do it again.

It was a clean hit, because Cutler didn’t slide. He was considered a runner.

Exactly what baffles me even more is that the defender got flagged.

I don't get how they flagged the defender for that. For a high hit on the QB. When Cutler made an illegal foward pass because he was at the time.

Well, I wouldn't expect a quarterback to slide when he's trying to throw the ball. He got hurt on the play when he got speared throwing to Hester, not when he ran a few plays later.
