Getty ImagesWith a pair of teams that love to play good defense and run the ball, it already was shaping up to be an old-school game at Soldier Field on Sunday night between the Texans and Bears.
So why not throw in some bad weather?
Courtesy of our friends at Weather.com, rain and wind will descend on the Chicago area today.
A cold front will bring precipitation and sustained blasts of air in the range of 15 to 25 miles per hour. As Jon Erdman of Weather.com points out, it won’t be like that Packers-Bears Monday night game from 18 years ago, but it still could be a factor in the performance of the passing attacks.
So if you’re going to the game, prepare accordingly. If you’re not, your decision to stay warm and dry is about to be vindicated.

What the hell were they wearing in that video? Those unis were awful.
I was there that night and it sucked! Take it from me the BEARS sucked until they got rid of COACH WANDSTAD! Mr. All the pieces are in place win coach. they went 4-12 that season. Thanks Mike !
Texans are in for a cold surprise
Bears Defense looks awesome!!
Can’t wait to see this game!! Two good teams to play but, neither fanbase should STRESS at the end win or loss!! (middle of the season hype)
The OVER REACTION of the final score to this game will take place all week & it will be just that…………………. a OVER REACTION!!!
Both teams are GOOD & are contenders!!!
Chicago is called the windy city because the Chicago people boast about the city, not because of weather. Little known fact.
That’s BEARS WEATHER! Guaranteed win!

Just kidding. But both teams will put up a great fight and this should be one of the games of the year.
I always love the anti-Chicago comment. Typically from some East coast yuppie that has never left home. Before you run your mouth, maybe you should travel a little (shooting from NY to the Jersey Shore doesn’t count).
Ok so we should expect little wind and no rain tonight.
“Chicago is called the windy city because the Chicago people boast about the city, not because of weather. Little known fact.”
Well, that would explain why Bears fans are so full of themselves even though everyone else knows they don’t have a chance……Hehehehehehehheheee!
Ah yes, some old school football. A precursor, appetizer, for the main course next weekend with the Steelers and Ravens.
If you’re a betting man, I’d take the under on both tonight’s game and next Sunday night’s game.
I’ll be there, not supposed to be cold, just windy and occasionally wet. The wind swirls at Soldier Field, so it will be a factor throwing a long pass, and the grass field will be slippery. Robbie Gould knows how to kick in that wind when it blows and may be the deciding factor? Bears by a field goal in a good close defensive game. 17-14.
The term “Windy City” came about as an observation to all the jaw boning the local politicians qre noted for, not the residents bragging….
Well at least theyll get to lose in good weather next Monday night!
Wind and Rain will stall the passing game. So it comes down to defenses. Bears are talented, but the Texans will pull out a close one.
Lets go texans! After Det beats min today well be back in the hunt! Plus I hope Hou exposes you for who u really are.
