Comments on: Falcons line doesn’t want all the blame for run game

As noted, no surprise to anyone who has watched the Falcons – the O Line can’t get consistent movement, and when they do Turner no longer hits the hole with authority or breaks tackles. And unfortunately, Jacquizz Rodgers and Jason Snelling are not viable replacements.

It’s interesting that the “experts” still talk about all the “weapons” that Matt Ryan has at his disposal. While it’s true that Julio, Gonzo & Roddy White are excellent players, a mediocre OL and poor RB play seem to indicate that Ryan may be even better than we think, taking this unbalanced team to 8-1……

…..Of course, the haters point out he’s never won a playoff game….maybe they can trade him for Mark Sanchez.

These guys are hilarious. When you outphysical them and don’t allow them to dive for your knees, you realize that they’re light in the cakes and get pushed around.

I said it last week and I am sticking to it, the five other teams that will make the playoffs (take Bucs, Seabags, Vikes — think the Saints have dug themselves too much of a hole with that Denver loss, especially) are ALL more physical than Atlanta. That’s why their playoffs won’t be any different this year than they have the last 3-4 times.

Sounds to me like he’s blaming the scheme not turner. He said “not just lining up and blocking the guys wherever they line up”… So maybe
The coaching staff isn’t doing a good enough job with their game plan or Matty ice isn’t making the right reads at the line… Just sayin

Turner didn’t really have anywhere to run, and the Saints had something to do with that. Give credit where it is due.

Turner the burner was a legendary back in his day and he had a really tough running style, but like all horses, someday they’ve got to be taken out to the pasture.
In this case the pasture is free agency where he’ll be looking to get a shot with someone else and he’ll be saying, call me, maybe?

Turner isnt as good as he used to be, but he was having to break multiple tackles behind the line of scrimmage on those goal line sets. There arent many, if any, backs that could have scored with that blocking

Apparently, they thought they had a right to an undefeated season but the Saints knocked them on their collective butts one more time.

I have thought all along that they were overrated.

New Orleans was doing a really good job of stacking the line on short yardage. It would have been hard for anyone to run against that. Give them some credit too.

They left their DB’s in 1-1 match-ups and they did d just enough to cover and win the game.

Turner will leave Atlanta as one our greatest RBs ever and that will always be stated. But, the truth to it now is with his age and speed on rapid decline for the entire league to see its safe to assume this is his last year with us. It’s a shame he’s got to go out like this. I’m talking Derek Lowe style.

Michael Turner just isn’t the same dude. You can just look at him and see that he’s become doughy. The offensive line will always take a portion of the credit or the blame, whichever is to be spread around, but it doesn’t help when the running back gets the ball and literally runs right into the back of the center or guard and gets tackled.
