I lost all respect for the Ravens……what a classless organization. A Fake field goal when up by that much….throwing the ball in the 4th qtr. Why all the hate for Carson? He is the only raider doing anything productive. He is having a much better year than quite a few of the “elite” qb’s this year. Rivers, Eli, Schaub, Stafford, Vick and the rapist from Pittsburgh to name a few (with less talented wide receivers).

I have to wonder if the people commenting here actually watched the game.

The Raiders were not handling their asskicking very well. They were trash talking, committing personal fouls, and generally acting like buffons during the entire game.

They needed to be embarrassed. They deserved it.

You have to understand the context of the game to understand the fake field goal. Although Harbs won’t admit it, the decision to go for the fake was likely due to the fact that Oakland took a couple cheap shots when the game became a blowout. Ray Rice was drilled in the head post-whistle earlier in the drive. Just prior to the fake fg, an Oakland cornerback taunted Anquan Boldin after an incomplete pass. Harbaugh was just backing his guys. It may have been rubbing it in, but it was necessary.

If the Raiders don’t want a fake FG layed on them, don’t load up the right side with 8, trying to block the FG. It was a no-brainer.

I have no problem with that call. it’s part of the game…what I have a problem with is why the NFL is determined to have west coast teams (on PST) who travel to the east coast (EST) and schedule an early game….why not just make it more fair by scheduling these games at 4 pm est. I guess they dont want the raiders and niners playing at the same time?

Bottom line , ravens spanked us, but have to admit the refs personal foul they called on wheeler for roughing flacco, the offensive pass interference called on Myers in the end zone, and the no call for both the holding, and block in the back on number 95 that sprung jones on his td return were all terrible calls, or no calls. Although I liked Jones dance at the end. Bottom line ..ravens spanked us. Giordano, Carlisle, and Brisiel don’t deserve to play.

You still don’t understand. It’s not a matter of “showing your hand”. It’s a play designed for a certain look, which Oakland showed yesterday and Pittsburgh showed in game 1 last year, hence Koch’s 2 point conversion to go up 29-7. If you don’t overload the left side, Tucker kicks the FG.

I guess the Raider aren’t complaining because they sucked so bad over the last two weeks, they have no right to open their mouths about anything. Complete melt down. Reggie McKenzie has a lot of house cleaning to do after the season. Maybe with a few darft picks and some salary cap room, he can start building the team. But as far as Harbaugh is concerned, it was still pretty classless.

I’m by no means a Ravens fan, but I don’t see a problem with this. With a big game next week you want your offense leaving the game with as much momentum as possible.

The Raiders should be upset about the effort they showed to even be in that situation (down 24 at that point). Something’s gotta change, a fire has to be lit under this team somehow. Dennis hasn’t shown that fire yet, and if he doesn’t soon he may be handed the pink slip.

To hell with all that.. I’m glad the ravens never let up on us and went for the throat… As a proud raider fan, I pained me to watch, however it needed to happen, it pisses me off when coaches do that kneel down or drop at the one yard line after a big return instead of scoring BS.. If the raiders felt some kinda way about it than maybe they shoulda stopped them from scoring in the first place…

Dennis Allen’s expression is what upsets me, he sat there looking like a 8 year old kid on time out… Where’s the anger and the passion and the leadership??? I understand he’s new and all, but he better start stepping his game up

This was in done in the third quarter and no lead can be presumed safe in the NFL.
Remember when the NYG were up 38-14 in the 2002 NFC Wildcard game? They lost.
Remember the Oilers beating the Bills handily 35-3 in an AFC playoff game? What was the outcome then?
My point is that this is professional football. If the Ravens would have let up and Oakland were to come back and win, then what would people say?

The only time a team should back off is when they’re trying to eat clock to end the game. The Raiders hung 59 on the Broncos a couple of years ago, and I don’t recall myself or any other Raider fan feeling bad about the score. I’m not pissed about anything the Ravens did yesterday. When a quarterback gets his foot stepped on during a fourth down play, and then fumbles on another fourth down play, it’s just not your day.

If one team puts all their players on one side of the ball and the other team runs to the other side unexpectedly, the odds are in that second team’s favor.

The mentality is play until you are stopped. It sucks to be on the losing side, but it sucks worse when the other team stops trying against you.

To their credit, the raiders handled like professionals, unlike most teams that cry about the score being run up. This isn’t sandlot, this is professional.

Good job raiders, now let’s see you start to play with as much heart as the class you showed with this, and you will be doing better in no time.

I always hate when people complain about teams running up the score because it’s the defense’s job to stop that from happening but running a fake field goal play when you’re up 31 points is a real scumbag move

Harbaugh is a former special teams coach. He has said before that any time a team overloads the left side of the line trying really hard to block a kick he will run a fake to the opposite side, regardless of situation. It’s not a crazy fake play that can only be run once a season samanthaetc. It’s a very simple numbers game.

The Raiders were still playing hard or else they would not have lined their entire team on the left side for the block. Why should the Ravens stop playing hard either?

Bunch of bs. Nobody expects a fake FG being down by 30. It was a cheap shot and the Raiders didn’t have the heart, or enough fight in them to make them pay for it.

This team is soft like the Joe Bugel and Norv Turner Raiders. Amazing how much they regressed from last year.
