Reid will be gone. Though at this point it’s probably the best for Reid, career wise and life wise. People still keep forgetting that after going through years of having one of his sons addicted to heroin, it ended with him losing him.

Despite having a terrible run/pass ratio, Reid is a good coach, who needs people who oppose him (Childress) rather than have his playing style and suck (Morhinweg). Forgetting the sports aspect, I think Reid really needs a change of scenery, too many recent memories here.

These are my feelings as well. But make no mistake – the fact that Reid deserves to be fired this year doesn’t mean these yahoos were right all along when they chanted “Fire Andy” after each of the last 9 years. He’s a great coach who will do well somewhere else just like he did in Philly. His time’s just run out here.

I live in Philly and listen to sports talk radio all day every day. And when they were 3-1 I didn’t hear 1 person say that they weren’t getting enough credit. In fact most fans were still pretty skeptical of the team after a couple of 1 point wins. So cool it with the hyperbole Mike, philly fans get enough of a bad name without your lies.

I’m sorry….but who didn’t think the Eagles were getting enough credit early in the season? Most Eagles fans were down on the team the whole time, or at least not excited about them by week 4.

As a die-hard Titans fan and a Charlotte, NC resident, I can tell you with certainty that Andy Reid would be welcomed with open arms by Titans and Panthers fans and become an instant rock star the moment he moved to Nashville or Charlotte. Both cities have come within one play of a Super Bowl title, and we know Andy could get us back.

I totally disagree. This is one of those “CYA” articles written just in case Reid stays so some guy can say, “I called it!” after the fact.

Reid is absolutely gone. Lurie has been publicly embarrassed multiple times this season on national television and he knows well enough how his “8-8 isn’t good enough” comment was interpreted.

Bottom line is … well … the bottom line. This team is losing fans in droves right now and it’s only going to get worse until he fires Reid. Lurie wants to make money first and foremost and in the NFL you do that by winning games. Reid is gone.

I have been telling you people all year Reid is not going anywhere. Lurie never said he was going to be fired. He said 8 & 8 was not acceptable, he never said what action he would take and I guarantee that Reid will be here because there were to many circumstances he couldn’t control

I agree 100% with eagleswin! No one in Philly thought the team was not getting enough credit at 3-1. Most of us thought they deserved to be 0-4. Injuries have definitely had an impact on this season, but Reid is more to blame.

1) When they brought in Demetress Bell and saw he was terrible this preseason, it was Reid who was too arrogant to go out and sign/trade for more help. All of this from a team that is in the top two in salary cap space yet again.

2) The awful play-calling is on Reid (1st and goal and 3 straight passing plays!?)

3) Reid blatantly refuses to run the ball or change his scheme despite not having the personnel to run it effectively. That is the definition of stubborn.

THAT is why he needs to go!

Lots of people talking about the cap space. Here is the deal. The Eagles lured all these “stars” to Philly with big contracts that were loaded heavy on the back end. That means these players are due big money next season and the Eagles wont be able to afford it and stay under the cap. The Eagles could restructure deals, but will the players agree? Probably not. The Eagles put all their eggs in one basket, and an overhaul of the team is coming fast.

They did it when McNabb was there, they’ve been doing it to Reid, and the next guy up will be the same. They asked for Foles and look what the kid did. “Lurie will retain Reid for the year out of respect. Rest assured hes gone the day the season officially ends. He will be hired elsewhere that same week and then its their problem. Good luck to that team when they realize he talks the talk but cant walk the walk. But hey, he’ll do “a better job putting players in the right position to make plays”. lol And for the fans out there that think Eagles fans are nuts after 14 years of “just good enough to make the playoffs” to want him to leave, I wish him upon your team.”

The irony is that Reid will be a hot commodity when he hits the open market, and like so many players that Reid has shipped out of Philly, he will never have the same success he had in Philly.
