Absolutely nobody likes losing home dates to the silly London game. Since they’re not going to stop the overseas games, the next best thing would be for the NFL to arrange a big event to fill that empty date. Hold it at the stadium, the workers all get paid, concessions are sold, area restaurants and businesses would still benefit from spillover traffic, etc. Maybe a fan appreciation thing where former greats are honored, build it around youth games and community events.

But right now the NFL basically thumbs its nose at the fans and cities who lose that home date.

Have we lost all perspective on what a free market is? If the demand is there, prices will rise. That’s not unfair. In fact, it’s exactly the opposite. It’s completely fair. When the price exceeds the demand, price will drop. Just because you or I can’t afford it anymore doesn’t make it unfair.

He’s trying to divide the citizens along economic status lines and get them to fight each other. It’s also called wealth-envy and class warfare. Same bull that’s been shoveled by politicians since 1860, when the politicians used wealth-envy and class warfare to get the 16th amendment passed so it would be lawful for the government to steal part of your paycheck (they called it an income tax). Nothing has changed in 150 years.

Typical liberal politician telling a business owner how he can spend the money he’s entitiled to earn. I get the london thing but telling a corporation how they can raise revenues to pay their bills is communist. BTW, wouldn’t it be a rich people’s stadium if only zygi paid for it with the others coming from all the people who pay taxes in minnesota and normally the top 5% pay about 80 percent of all taxes….

Don’t worry minnesota with our government thinking this way and football players no longer allowed to practice and be hit none of us will have the money or want to watch football at stadiums anymore..

How do you think Governor Dayton will stop this? Maybe he will use his time machine to go back in time? The stadium is law. Dayton has no power in stopping this. This is why we live in American, where people can’t change things on a whim. I 100% agree with Dayton and he is using the editorial as a way in shaming the vikings. Maybe you should go back and spend some time refreshing yourself on the law.

The argument is about that the Vikings want a state board to sell the PSLs, thus avoid taxes. If the Vikings sell them the state would generate tax revenue on the sale. The governor says he will work to prevent that.

The London game are in question because the agreement calls for only 3 games outside the area in a fifteen year period. Vikings are claiming these games don’t count because they were agreed too before the stadium agreement is final.

As for Wilf getting bad end of the deal because he didn’t get his prime location, well if he didn’t public money he would of had his location.

As for playing in London, I don’t have a big issue with it. During the next few years its going to be a mess around the construction area (at least until they play at TCF) so it’s no loss. The seat fee came from a survey the team sent to season ticket holder’s only to guage its support. The response has been overwhelming bad. The team will end up dropping the idea.

I am so sick and tired of politicians acting like they care about the common man. They say stuff like this all the time in order to appease voters and get re-elected. I dont agree with games played over in London but my Dolphins did it a few years ago, the Pats and Rams this year. Someone has to do it so why not the Vikings, must be another liberal state hard up for cash so they will bash anyone that gets in the way of raising it.

This is nothing but posturing to limit the seat license gouging. This came in response to a survey, and the Vikes have even admitted if there is a license at all, it will be limited in amount and location (Lester Bagley specifically said they can’t expect even close to the same numbers as out east). The stadium construction legislation has already been signed into law anyhow, and the State is making a ton of dough off the electronic pulltabs. Again, this is nothing but an excuse for brain dead Packer fans to type the words “LA Vikings”.

Love the Vikings, don’t love paying $2,000 just so I’m allowed to buy tickets.

I felt this was wrong when other teams around the league started to do this; it isn’t fair to the fans who truly love the team, but can’t afford to see them in person.
