Getty ImagesSteelers coach Mike Tomlin is at the podium as we speak, offering little in the way of updates on quarterback Ben Roethlisberger’s shoulder injury.
Tomlin said, via multiple reports, that Roethlisberger has a “shoulder sprain,” which would make him questionable this week. Of course, a separated shoulder is, by definition, sprained, so we really don’t know any more than we did a few minutes ago.
Yahoo’s Jason Cole just mentioned that Roethlisberger is awaiting word on a second MRI, so the rush to declare the quarterback one way or another seems premature.
His shoulder hurts. He’s seeing doctors. He doesn’t seem to know where he stands yet.
So we wait for the next wave of leaks.

Cue all the Ben haters to add their original comments about him being a drama queen and rapist.
I can’t be the only one who saw him look back to see if there was a camera following him when he went in the locker room, right?
What no one saw was that his arm fell off on the way to the hospital and then he used it as a club to beat away a crowd of zombies. He is going to be out for the next 4 1/2 seasons while a bionic is being prepared.
The Ravens definitely should start feeling over confident about the game this weekend because there is no chance he will play…
Looking forward to see if Tomlin follows Belichick’s injury report disclosure book.
I think that all but gives Baltimore the division but when he comes back they will lock up a wild card spot
He plays, they win. End of story.
Questionable aka doubtful aka nope im checking out to spend time with the baby mama
Joe Flacco, who also play’s in the AFC North, has never missed a game.
Really hope he can play. If he goes, we’ll take the game Sunday night. And goodness gracious, when is the Tazmanian Devil coming back????
couldnt have happened to to a nicer guy..
No. The definition of separated is not sprained.
But thanks for playing.
Big Ben is resting in his paddock and not putting any weight on his right front foreleg.
Someone cued me earlier, so here it goes…he is a Drama Queen. Many other QBs take harder hits several times a game and usually get right back up. Every single time he goes to the ground, he gets up limping or shaking a hand, rubbing an elbow, looking at his thumb. There is no way you can deny it. One thing’s for sure, whether or not he plays Sunday night, Crissy boy will be loving on him. He will be mentioned as much as if he were on the field. Will be sure to watch with it muted!
I hope it’s a career ender.
Why is Batch not activated?…I agree with another comment, we lose the division but will squeak in a wild card.
Leftwich over Batch is a joke. Batch is a better leaderin the huddle and can execute those Haley screeen passes better than leftwich.
And we wait for you guys to blow this out of proportion. The speculations begin!
Steelers/ravens always play each other tough. This is no gimme whether Ben plays or not. I feel he’d make a difference for the steelers but the deciding factor.
@ravenator
Thank u for another intelligent comment about the Steelets, why do u even like the Ravens ur not from Maryland, guess u just think their colors r pretty
Since when is Baltimore not a part of Maryland. Must be that Pittsburgh education rearing its ugly head again. Shame.
