APThe Packers are dealing with injuries on the offensive line, and quarterback Aaron Rodgers has a suggestion: Sign Chad Clifton.
Rodgers said on his ESPN Milwaukee radio show that he’d love to see Clifton, who played for the Packers from 2000 to 2011, sign with the Packers again right now.
“I love [Clifton]. I would never not want to see him up here. We’ve had a lot of fun together,” Rodgers said, via the Green Bay Press-Gazette. “I think if there’s any interest, then it’s worth looking into.”
That, however, is a big “if.” Clifton is 36 years old and has a long injury history, and when the Packers released him following a failed physical in April, it seemed like a permanent end to Clifton’s tenure in Green Bay. It’s not surprising that Rodgers would like to see one of his old friends back in the mix, but it’s probably not going to happen.
