Have always liked Claibourne’s attitude but the Eagles game was awful for him. Just cut out the penalties and he should do fine.

Claiborne has the potential to be great, really great. Any he may start showing that potential any minute. Problem is, he’s got Rob Ryan in charge of his development.

Your analysis is horrible and I suspect you haven’t watched him play. His mistakes are due to technique, and that was the knock on him coming into the NFL. I don’t know if he will fix the problem or not, but you’re wrong. Directly from NFL.com:

Weaknesses
Claiborne is such a gifted athlete that he can often times get lazy in his technique. Working in off-man coverage, he has a tendency to get his pad level high in his back pedal and delude the explosiveness that makes him so effective out of his breaks.

This isn’t a matter of technique, the kid just can’t cover… you can only teach so much. Maybe he can play safety, but he will never be an NFL corner, and even the Boys aren’t self-destructive and mismanaged enough to leave him out there much longer, whatever the investment in him. Bust. Spectacular bust. Maybe he can return kicks…

A friend of mine that is a huge Cowboys fan couldn’t thank me enough for the trade with the Rams that gave them Claiborne. I think it was a bit premature. That trade netted the Rams Brockers and Jenkins. I would have to say advantage, Rams.
