Getty ImagesAs it turns out, Redskins coach Mike Shanahan is still looking for his wallet.
Earlier this week, reports emerged that Shanahan realized $3,700 in cash and his passport were missing from a bag he brought to Heinz Field in Pittsburgh. Per the reports, Shanahan filed a police report before finding the money in another bag.
The Redskins say that the first part of that is true, but the second part isn’t.
“Mike Shanahan did have money and a passport stolen out of his locker room in Pittsburgh,” Redskins director of security Ed Burke said in a statement. “The Pittsburgh Police insisted on filing a police report because of the missing passport.
“There is an ongoing investigation. The missing property was not stowed in another bag as reported.”
So there you have it. While playing the Steelers, a stealer struck.
Yeah, I’ve been waiting for like two days to use that.

Florio, you certainly are witty! lol
Just look for the Yinzer with a pickup truck bed stocked to overflowing with Cheetos and Iron City beer.
Pittsburgh’s entire security staff should be fired on the spot! What an embarrassment!
pointing out the fact that you are excited about that lame joke makes that lame joke hilarious. thank you for the laugh, Mr. Florio.
$3,700 cash and a passport? Was he planning to flee the country?
Why did he have $3700 cash on him, and why the hell would you not keep it on you? I guess id have to be a millionaire to understand.
Any GRIMM fans out there (The show not the player)??? Shanahan sure does resemble a Mauzhertz! Google it and you’ll agree…..

Hall had to steal his way out of Pittsburgh!
If anyone is impersonating Coach Shanahan, with his awful record right now, they’ll have to find a defense with more holes than swiss cheese
He left it on a bus. On his way to the civic center.
After nearly finding the culprit, but falling short, Pittsburgh police said they would use the remainder of the season to evaluate the situation.
Having a bunch of cash on him doesn’t bother me; but why in the heck would you bring a passport on a trip from DC to Pittsburg. Makes no sense

Nope, sorry, that was Willie Dixon who wrote that
Grandpa lost his wallet again! Oh, grandpa.
I blame Albert Haynesworth
DeAngelo Hall definitely stole the money to help pay his fine.
Considering Ben Roethlisberger was in a nearby locker room, Shanahan might want to have police break out the rape kit on his passport before accepting it back…
Where was Tatum Bell?
A passport to go from Washington to Pittsburgh?
Hmmm . . .
When was the last time, Kyle got a raise in his allowance ?
My guess? The ref took it and handed it the Steelers, just like they do everything else.
I worked in NFL locker rooms for 10 years. Hard for me to imagine this was anything but an inside job. There are just not that many people with access on gameday. someone is sweating hard right now
treybon, good point, makes sense.
Along with the fact that were I a thief, I’d start with the top players lockers if I didn’t KNOW what someone had in their possession. The NFL is a profession where even top paid “bosses”don’t make close to what their “employees” do.
The one thing we know for sure is that no one is fraudulently using his ID and pretending to be him. After all, who would want to be Mike Shanahan?
I’ve always suspected that western PA is a foreign country, hence the passport.
Really, a passport is needed to visit Pittsburg?
Such a loser he won in Denver because of Elway and a backup who is now head coach of Houston.
Just look who is winning now Elway & Kubiak.
