Tramon Williams may have been good some years ago, but Sherman has vastly outperformed him this season. Richard Sherman should have been a pro bowler last year and will be this year accomplishing it in his second season as a pro. He may not have a ring yet, but the way Seattle is building and performing it won’t be long until he does.

Watching the Packers-Lions game. Megatron has 88 yards vs Packers and its not even half time yet. His last catch was a 20 plus yarder where he undressed Williams man to man.

Honestly it’s less about who is the best DB in the secondary and more about who’s the worst. You could have Deion Sanders and Rod Woodson lined up, but if you have nickle and dime DBs that are street FAs you are going to get destroyed by any team with depth at WR.

I like the knowledge and do think its true. Since passing of the late Al Davis I don’t know if there is any team that is more single high safety (ET 29) over the top with man to man coverage than the Seahawks. Browner and Sherman’s size gives them a huge advantage in press coverage and they have shut down nearly everything outside.

If anyone watches football and isn’t a homer you would recognize that Sherman is one of the top 3 cover corners in the league in his 2nd year. Williams is good, I watched him making plays this year but he is not even in the top 6 or 7 of the NFC. Making excuses about a bad year due to injury is a copout, Packer players can make the Pro Bowl without doing anything just ask John Kuhn. So saying he’s a Pro Bowl player means nothing to a educated fan.

Williams played hurt all of last year. He is much closer to his 2010 form. Tillman is 8-12 lifetime against the Packers.

Who has a ring again? Didn’t Williams play last year with one arm? Yeah we will see how he does with both. Sherman needs to shut up. There is no way the Seahawks will ever be anything in the post season ever.

Tramon was playing with one arm last year. He had nerve damage in his shoulder, which still hasn’t completely healed.

Dude manned up, because we didn’t have the depth to sit him.

Really all these CBs need to shut up. There’s all the “I shut down [insert player name]” that is mostly BS.

Many CBs are not man to man every play, and any team worth their salt is going to be moving their best WR around, using stacked formations, etc. so they get a favorable matchup.

Yeah, sherman helped keep Johnson to only 3 for 46, but he allowed Titus Young to abuse him for 9 for 100 and 2 TD’s.

So let’s see how good Richard Sherman is with the same shoulder injury Tramon had last year – then let’s bench all of seattle’s best pass rushers for the game – then take seattle’s other good DBs off the field and leave a 1 armed Sherman along with several Jarrett Bush types – then see how many yards Calvin gets on that.

If it’s less than 244 yards – then Sherman is better.

I’m a hawks fan, but I got a lot of respect for Williams. He had 3 or four post season interceptions when GB won the SB, and has been hurt since. I’d love to see him play with a safety like Earl Thomas over top, but right now Sherman is the better DB on a better defense.

If you look over the course of the past 3 season and factor in the numbers on those 5 games (DNP in one of them for CJ)

4.8 catches per for an average of 86.6 yards and a TD a game.

That is with the monster game at the end of last season… an defensive failure on all levels of both teams.

Without that.. last 3 seasons.

3.25 / 47.25 yards and a score a game.

So really.. neither side has the advantage and the chirp off is a moot point. Other than just to chirp that is.

Tramon was hurt in 2011. Tramon has been a probowl caliber CB since 2009.

With the lone exception of week 17 in 2009, Tramon has OWNED Megatron. I expect more of the same this Sunday.

The Lions are a desperate team, and that makes them dangerous. But GB should still come away with the win.

Sherman is only second to Tillman for best DB in the NFC.
This isn’t an opinion, but a measurable fact based on stats compiled.
Williams seem to still be a little upset by the Monday night fiasco, because in now way, shape, or form, is he as good as Sherman is on a bad day.
