According to many anonymous Lions fans Suh is aweSome, and any team would jump to get him on their roster. His poor play is due to the fact that he is the only DT in the league that has to fight through double teams.

This is a guy that came out in the same draft and picked just ahead of Gerald McCoy. Most people said he would be the better pick and for the first couple of years, he absolutely was, but right now, I would take GMAC over him in a heartbeat. Gerald has worked really hard and he is one of the main reasons (along with Lavante David), the Bucs lead the league in negative plays from scrimmage.

So if he’s doubled & tripled teamed every play, why don’t the lions lead the league in sacks? Total defense or takeaways. I do agree with the post about not being able to tackle anymore in the NFL if they even look at a QB they get fined.

I’m a Lions fan and I think what this scout said definitely has some merit to it. Coaches talk him up but when it comes down to it he isn’t nearly as effective as he was as a rookie. You must also keep in mind that a DT isn’t supposed to have the stats he had as a rookie, those were ridiculous. Maybe he just regressed back to what he is gonna be his entire career, maybe he is getting more attention now, maybe the league really did suspend and fine the edge out of him (I know the “stomp” was worthy of a suspension) however the infamous forearm shiver to Cutler that was actually a push in the back and was still fined by the league after review makes me wonder.

I really don’t know, I just know I want 2010 Suh back.

I’m in the camp that faults the coaching. Problem is, now that he’s rich and has been allowed to get away with not giving his all for a couple years, it’ll be tough for any future coach to reverse that behavior.

Mark my words: They’ll never reach their potential with Schwarz as coach. He just doesn’t promote a disciplined atmosphere like long-term winning franchises have. You can have an attitude on the field but still be smart and disciplined. But Schwartz can’t draw the distinction.

He’s playing soft because the NFL fined all the emotion out of him. Big badass defenders who put on the big hits used to get the spotlight and be highly regarded now they get suspended and fined by the No Fun League..stomping a guy on thanksgiving was still unnecessary though.
