phillips knew Dobbins would get fined so why pretend like the 30,000
hurt so much? and if it did then that
should tell Dobbins to stop launching him self at QB’s cause that means he dont make the money to pay for it.

Just because the NFL dropped the ball with past concussions shouldn’t mean they drop the hammer even harder on some players/teams for their own negligence…

Why would Dobbins be fined for Slauson’s hit on Cushing?

The NFL has been like this for years. Some teams deserve to get calls and some don’t. Some players deserve to get protected, some don’t.

All you have to do is look at the discrepancy between the leagues reaction on the Cutler headshot and the Calvin Johnson headshot.

It’s discouraging(especially because I root for a team that hasn’t been anointed deserving.

Amen. It happened on National TV to one of the leagues darlings (the Bears), so the commish had to say something big. The league could care less about teams and players outside of the mid/upper east coast, Chicago, and San Fran.

Obviously you didn’t read closely – he’s saying that if the fine was so large because it caused a concussion, then why was Cutler still in the game and running and throwing and looking fine for the next few plays. He doesn’t disagree with the fine or that the hit was illegal, just the amount of the fine.

Any injury is bad but not all require a fine. Cutler played after his concussion but the Texans were fined. In all truth, the Bears staff should have been fined for not recognizing it.

When the player that targets a QB’s head and knocks him out says it was good that happened and discusses his “knockout punch” things may not be the exact same situation.

It’s not comparing injuries, and absolutely not national TV. Wade should know what his players are saying before drawing an arbitrary conclusion with a strong lack of evidence.

Phillips also pointed out that because Cutler continued to play, it was hard to pinpoint that Dobbins’ hit caused his concussion.

That’s almost as ridiculous as Dobbins saying, “He ran into me.”
