Shoot man, I am a life long Browns fan, and I can’t get excited about anything I read about this team anymore. I’m 52 and I told my daughter the other day, I will never live long enough to see the Browns become a champion (I am in good health, by the way)

Look for guys on the Browns like Haden, who are good enough to have no fear of being unemployed by somebody next year, but not good enough to be All-Pros like Joe Thomas, to have a string of minor injuries that keep them out of games.

The players know Shurmur and probably Heckert are gone next year, and they know the Browns are going nowhere this year. They’re not going to risk serious injury when they have nothing to play for and nothing to prove.

Young guys with something to prove will play, potential All-Pros (Thomas) will play, contract year guys will play, the rest, expect them to spend a lot of time in the training room with this mysterious injury or that mysterious injury.
