“light” helmet to helmet? 6 players have been fined a total of $74K for hits on Luck. Too bad trying to concuss opponents is still the goal of many players.

I believe It was a light helmet to helmet on knighton. To say it was a “kill the head shot” is grossly incorrect. The Landry hit as well. Its easy to say it was intentional during slow motion. In regular speed, there isn’t enough time between landry going for the tackle and luck sliding. Imo, if you run pass the line of scrimmage, you should be fair game. If you do that,quarterbacks will be protected from themselves. Running will decrease dramatically and these his become a non-issue.

Luck may have taken more hits that were fined by the league than any other player, I’ve been reading this all year. It’s disgusting that opponents continue to try to “kill the head.” The NFL needs to put a stop to it. $21K isn’t enough to deter the hits, especially when everyone on the team probably chips in to cover it.

Fines seem to be a major revenue source for the league office now. Why don’t they just publish their list of how much each and every tackle or bit of contact is going to cost the defensive player?

The next thing you know, there will be fines for defensive players breathing wrong around certain QBs and other star offensive players.

Irrespective of the hit being dirty or not, I’m tired of the weekly tribunals on these things. It seems to me that these fines are done too frequently – it would seem that they should be saved for gregarious violations, not ones that are the output of a forensics investigation after the fact. It is still football, isn’t it.
