Cowboys make a roster move to shore up line

The continued shuffle on the Cowboys offensive line is likely to continue, as the Cowboys just added center Kevin Kowalski to the active roster, according to Clarence Hill of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.

That’s probably a sign about the status of Ryan Cook, who didn’t practice this week and is listed as doubtful with a knee injury.

Kowalski started the season on the physically unable to perform list, but returned to practice last week. To create the roster spot, they put rookie safety Matt Johnson on injured reserve. The Cowboys kept waiting for the fourth-rounder to get over a hamstring injury, but needed the spot and couldn’t wait.

Kowalski will likely back up Mackenzy Bernadeau at center, with Bernadeau sliding over from right guard because of the injuries to Cook and Phil Costa.
