Sadly for Al Michaels, Jack Buck beat him to the punch on “I don’t believe what I just saw.”
The Steelers opened Sunday Night Football in the most amazing way possible, with quarterback Byron Leftwich running 31 yards for a touchdown.
The Ravens seemed as shocked as Leftwich that he kept running, until he ended up in the end zone for a 7-0 lead. It was the longest run of the 32-year-old Leftwich’s career.
Leftwich wasn’t mobile when he was young, and wasn’t supposed to be able to do the kind of things a healthy Ben Roethlisberger does.
But he just did.
He appears to have hurt his right shoulder, but he’s still in the game. Maybe he’s just going to run spread option.
