Packers should have lost today. They were handed a couple of gifts from the officials today for not calling pass interference, and those could have made a difference of four points. And Mason Crosby couldn't connect. However, there were a lot of dropped passes today from the Lions. Lions receivers have also got to get on the same page with their quarterback and not set up interceptions for their quarterback. It was a tough loss today for the Lions.

Sloppy 1st half

As much as I pulling for the Lions for the Vikings sake, it was REALLY hard to watch Crosby miss all those FGs.

You have to think they'll bring in a few guys to try out

iluvbears says: Nov 18, 2012 4:35 PM

I see the Packers continue to get assistance from the refs by not calling the obvious pass interference in the end zone late in the game. Should have been 1st & goal at the 1 yard line. Instead, the Lions are forced to kick the field goal. If I were a Lion fan, I’d be really pissed right now.
_______________
There was an idiot at the bar spouting this same nonsense. The Offensive player tried to run through the defender. Like it or not the defender has the right to the piece of turf he is occupying. That was a designed offensive route: run into the guy a little bit and turn back the opposite way. This way you get a free push off. If it was PI as you claim why did Stafford have the ball in the air and on the other side of the receiver? It is easy to make excuses for a team like the Lions.

“To run up the score? Wow, I thought you were better than this. If they don’t kick that field goal, the Lions only need a field goal.”

Not stupid, but I will admit to not seeing the end of the game, I had stepped away from the TV after Detroit went four-and-out…Depending on how much time was left after GB ran 3 plays, and the Lions’ timeout situation, then yeah, kicking the FG was a smart move.

And you’re talking to a Bears fan with more respect for the Packers and not so much for Detroit, so it surprised me when I thought your team might have indeed run up the score.

There's the Larry I know.

No, there was 1:15 left. With Calvin Johnson on the other side, you don't just take a knee and take your chances that they can get it to your 40 where, unlike some kickers, Jason Hanson seems to make some field goals.

Lions aren’t there yet. Talent is, but this will be the galvanizing year – a lot like Rodgers’ first in GB. Lions will finish season on outside looking in, as that is the level of play they are on. But make no mistake about it, they’re still on the right track as an organization heading forward.

“The most hilarious aspect of all of this whining is that, had that been a TD, you’d still be sitting here now. with a loss. Like it matters if you lose 24-23 instead of 24-20. The Lions weren’t anywhere near FG range on their final drive.”

If Detroit gets a TD on the drive with the PI that was ignored by the refs, they go up 24-14, so how would they then lose 24-whatever? Plus, that last GB FG (to run up the score) only happened because Detroit had to go for it on 4th. down, so no guarantee the Pack even scores 24 if the Lions had gone up by ten earlier.

----

To run up the score? Wow, I thought you were better than this. If they don't kick that field goal, the Lions only need a field goal.

I guess you're just as stupid as the rest of them.

Missed Pass interference? If you look at that play without being anti-packer or pro-lion, you can clearly see that Young initiated the contact, then Young tripped and fell. Sure, the DB had hands on Young, but since Young initiated the contact, the ref saw fit to leave his flag in his pocket. Isnt even a case of "never seen that before" or "that is called defensive PI 99% of the time". It is a case of that is how it is called most of the time. If a flag had been thrown, it would have been an injustice. People sure like to pick at the officials when they make calls against their team or for teams they just dont like.

I guess they know that after tomorrow night, the Bears will never again be in first place of the division.

Probably miss the playoffs, too.
