The biggest names missing from Sunday night’s game between the Ravens and Steelers have been known for some time, but there were a couple of notable names on the inactive list that hadn’t previously been ruled out of the game.

Defensive end Pernell McPhee and guard Bobbie Williams will both miss the game, leaving the Ravens a man short on the line on each side of the ball. McPhee was doubtful with a thigh injury, so his absence isn’t a surprise, but Williams was listed as probable on Friday’s injury report. Jah Reid will start at left guard for Williams and Arthur Jones will get the start at defensive end.

The Ravens’ other inactive players are cornerback Jimmy Smith, cornerback Asa Jackson, defensive tackle Terrance Cody, guard Ramon Harewood and wide receiver Deonte Thompson.

Pittsburgh’s inactive list is dominated by players we knew we wouldn’t see. Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, safety Troy Polamalu, tackle Marcus Gilbert and wide receiver Antonio Brown were all counted out fairly early in the week. Cornerback DeMarcus Van Dyke, linebacker Stevenson Sylvester and linebacker Adrian Robinson join them in street clothes on Sunday night.
