Skelton out, Lindley in for Cardinals

Three weeks ago, Cardinals coach Ken Whisenhunt scoffed at the possibility of rookie Ryan Lindley getting time at quarterback.

I don’t know where the Lindley [push] is coming from,” Whisenhunt said on October 30.

Regardless of where it’s coming from, it has arrived.  The Cardinals have yanked John Skelton and inserted Lindley, a sixth-round pick in the April draft.

Skelton doesn’t appear to be injured.  But he has completed only two of seven passes, turning three interceptions by the Falcons into only 13 points.

Still, when a quarterback throws three interceptions in the first quarter, it’s strange that the quarterback from the other team is the one that gets yanked.
