APThree weeks ago, Cardinals coach Ken Whisenhunt scoffed at the possibility of rookie Ryan Lindley getting time at quarterback.
“I don’t know where the Lindley [push] is coming from,” Whisenhunt said on October 30.
Regardless of where it’s coming from, it has arrived. The Cardinals have yanked John Skelton and inserted Lindley, a sixth-round pick in the April draft.
Skelton doesn’t appear to be injured. But he has completed only two of seven passes, turning three interceptions by the Falcons into only 13 points.
Still, when a quarterback throws three interceptions in the first quarter, it’s strange that the quarterback from the other team is the one that gets yanked.

Mind boggling they didn’t keep Rich Bartel. He’s still out there on the marker, Arizona.
I would scoff too.. I mean, who is Trevor Lindley? Some fan they pulled out of the stands?
I think “Ryan” is the name you were looking for here.
Larry Fitzgerald must be kicking himself for signing that contract extension. He should’ve considered the fact that the team had no legitimate long term quarterback before making that decision.
I’m going to guess that Wisenhunt had been game planning for this switcheroo all week. Have we ever seen a QB benched in the 1st Q with his team ahead?
It’s the second half of the season and maybe the coach is working up the 2013 roster.
They get what they deserve. Definitely not championship caliber like yours truly.
As if QB play could be any worse. Lindley has the ability to throw the deep ball.
“Still, when a quarterback throws three interceptions in the first quarter, it’s strange that the quarterback from the other team is the one that gets yanked.”
Uh, because the one that’s thrown 3 INTs is a proven Pro Bowler having an MVP season while the other is an erratic afterthought.
Also, how much can jersey colors throw off a QB when he’s looking for his targets? It’s amazing to me that any QB can think fast when surveying a sea of red and white, much less a mediocre performer.
This has been coming for weeks. Skelton hasnt even been playing like a back up QB this year. Cards have nothing to lose making this switch. Good luck rookie!
Way to waste a stellar game from our defense.
I agree Skelton is a scrub and wouldn’t be on any other teams roster. Back up on the practice squade maybe.
