APA young quarterback making his first NFL start is taking on the NFL’s best defense on Monday Night Football. Obviously, it’s a mismatch.
And by that I mean the Bears’ defense is no match for 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick.
Kaepernick got off to a brilliant start on Monday night against the Bears, showing a strong arm, the patience to read through his progression, and perfect touch on his passes.
Kaepernick completed seven of his first eight passes, for 114 yards, as the 49ers jumped out to a 10-0 lead. Kaepernick’s 57-yard pass to Kyle Williams was an absolutely beautiful deep ball — one of the finest passes you’ll ever see from any quarterback, let alone a quarterback who has never started an NFL game before.
There’s still a lot of football left to be played, but in the early going Kaepernick is absolutely shredding the Bears’ defense. Chicago better answer in a hurry.
UPDATE 9:21 p.m. ET: The 49ers stretched the lead to 17-0 early in the second quarter.

John Gruden’s had 4 orgasms already.
I’m really sorry Alex Smith.
He’s making basic NFL throws that any Qb should be able to make. Alex Smith is captain check down so their not use to seeing this in SF.
Brady over Bledsoe 2.0
Bears don’t have any more 1-7 teams to take advantage of.
Pack is comin to take away first place in the division Bear fans. BOOYA!
So this is what a real passing game looks like,
Sincerely,
SF Fans
That was a nice pass to Williams.
Hey Colin Karpernick, since SF won’t start you unless Smith is out, maybe you should come to San Diego and take over for Rivers!
I’d love to see it.
RG4 has arrived
Same ole Jay. Same ole Bears.
It’s odd. I thought the Bears defense was good.
I guess not.
Bad timing for an injury Alex Smith. You may have lost your job.
The Bears are finally playing good teams and it’s showing. Jason Campbell is terrible as well you’d think they’d have a better backup after last year.
Wally Pip ,Drew Bledsoe , Don Mojkowski add Alex Smith
wow.. embarassing
Early word is Alex Smith is still having concussion symptoms next week.
Mark Sanchez should be watching this game and taking notes…..but he is probably too busy looking for a brand new pair of white pants…
Bears being exposed, they can’t beat elite teams. Packers killed them, couldn’t handle the Texans, and now the defense can’t stop a backup QB. Yeah I can TOTALLY see the similarities between this defense and the ’85 crew… Lmao.
Bears are awful. They won’t make the playoffs. Packers are division leaders after tonight.
Bear down?
QB controversy?
Goodbye alex smith.
And goodbye my viewership for the rest of the night. No way campbell/bears D outscores the damage already done

Oh so that’s whyyyyy there are so many elite QB’s. makes sense
Lovie & his regime of cast off’s need to be dismissed after this season for good!
If they can keep this up I dont know who can stop the 9ers…Mr checkdown Alex just lost his job.
I’m a bears fan and they don’t be long on the same field as the 49ers
Or any other good team
The funny thing is that the Bears know Campbell is horrible. They keep calling running plays and screens when they are down by three scores.
Obviously the 49ers defense has a lot to do with it but the Bears are going to lose every game that Cutler misses.
Gruden is THE #1 sycophant in football.
Drew Brees demands an explanation
I used to defend Jason Campbell… now… I don’t even know if he deserves to be in the league.
Kaepernick dislocates Moss’s finger.
Alex Smith pulls Moss’s finger.
The Battle of the Concussed goes to 49ers. Chicago forgot they still have to play even though their backup QB sucks more.
Jay Cutler for MVP…
Queue the “Jay Cutler is out.” excuses.
SHAKE THAT BEAR!!!
Keep up the disrespect media. Obviously the niners D excels when you tell them teams like Seattle and Chicago have better defenses
Tucostacos blames the refs.
At the half,
Colin Kaepernick: QB rating 140
Jason Campbell: QB rating 16.7
Ha ha ha ha ha
Too soon to call Kaepernick an elite QB?
Lets not get carried away now. He had a great few minutes and have cooled off. Matt Flynn, Matt Cassel,Kevin Kolb. Alex is well remain the starter.
49ers win big tonight so they can get it out of their system because next week they are going down hard (like the bears tonight)
Well, we now know the big bad bears ain’t so big so bad and certainly not so bearish after all.
imagine if the bears had even half the injuries the Pack have had this year….
Dudes would have a top 5 selection in the draft – us?
We’re in a good position to win the division late in the season.
Wow, you guys must be proud of yourselves, trash talking a Bears team that’s losing with their franchise QB out and a backup in that throws for 21 yards in the first half. But I guess you’ll take it where you can get it.
Our offensive line is well…..OFFENSIVE !
Great, the Bears start the second have just like the first…..nice halftime adjustment Lovie !
The Bear’s are sending a middle finger to the Ram’s for this wake up call
The 49ers are scarey good tonight. Where is that vaunted Chicago D? Turned the game off at 20-0.
Alex who??
This does not look good for Bears fans. We are getting exposed big time. How can we even get past a loss like this?
Yeah blame Jason Campbell because his offensive line is getting blown up. Any team with Mike Tice and Rod Marinelli on it will never win a championship.
Alex Smith may have just been Wally Pipped
i dont like him but damn that is one hell of a football coach, never been so impressed by a coaching performance.

LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL yeah more like down the field repeatedly. You really think the Aints can stop this? Their D might actually be worse than last year and they don’t have a real coach to adjust. I think it will be exactly like tonight with New Orleans on the receiving end
As of 6:00 in the 3rd, Kaepernick has a 155 passer rating and Campbell has 27.5. Has Smith ever broke 100?
I have never seen an offensive tackle as bad as Webb. How in the hell does he make a team? He is the worst offensive lineman I have ever seen. I hope all the cutler hating bears fans see how he truly wasn’t at fault for everything bad that happened on their offense. Cutler and Campbell have about a tenth of a second to throw the football with that guy in there.
Just wait give him a few years and he will be a big name player

So your excuse for being bad is, “it’s ok, we’re bad”? Your team is 7-2 and on top of your division.
There may not be a QB controversy in SF after this game, but there SHOULD be!
Kaepernick should be drawing interest from other NFL teams. 49ers should seriously consider shopping him for a high price.
Campbell would be great if all of his receivers were 8 foot tall

Just wait and see if he is the real deal first…
Then trade Alex Smith for a 4th or 5th rounder

You trash talk all the time. I guess some people just can’t take it. Cry cry cry, little one!
Quick someone call Arizona and tell them to get their draft picks ready!
For real…Peace Alex
I expected Campbell to suck, but I hate when the D takes a day 0ff like tonight…7-3 ain’t looking so hot this year, even though a lot of folks didn’t think we’d beat Houston and SF anyway…What a shame they look so ill-prepared on both sides of the ball.
I quit watching at the half…I NEVER quit watching, so that tells you how disgusted I am right now
The Bears have been exposed. Looking back at their schedule, they beat up on a bunch of cup cakes.
You know, Jim Harbaugh proved Rex Ryan wrong again!!!
Ryan said that Tim Tebow and Mark Sanchez were brought together so that defenses would have a difficult time game planning because there are two quarterbacks.
By leaking this “Alex Smith will likely play” garbage that may have led Smith to not game plan enough for Colin Kaepernick. I love what Collin is doing, but I just want things to be fair for Alex Smith because he deserves to play if he has shown that he is the better passer And that he can play when there is already coaching tape on him. If Colin started there would be coaching tape in the future and that would cause them to lose a playoff game or two Because they did not have an off-season to adjust to defenses that would eventually get Kaepernick down.

LOLOLOLOL that will cost them 2 first rounders
Will pats haters be chiming in about running it up and challenging that play
Bears fans upset their team has been exposed as a poorly coached/prepared team. They beat the Colts week one for their only win against a team with a winning record. Pack a lock for the division now. Deal with the bear facts.
I can understand the minor resentment toward the man because he went to New Orleans, but do you really want to give Ditka a second stroke? Too soon???
It was like the Alex Smith that played against the Saints in the playoffs last year, the guy that can pull the trigger. Not the Alex Smith that has been in every game since for the 49rs.
He is history. This guy showed the offensive resources that the 49rs have, they should not have to hide behind the defense with the players they have.
Look, the Bears didn’t plan for Kaepernick heavily enough. That’s one reason why he did well, but he played great.
Don’t Make a big deal about Kaepernick versus Smith! There should not be a quarterback controversy because if Kaepernick plays in the long run there will be game film on him like how there was on Tannehill. How did that work Miami?
Also, with this game film scenario Likely going to take place the chances of going to the Super Bowl have diminished. Smith has been able to do almost as well as he did last year even though defenses can game plan for him. If this the case Smith should stay on because He is not as inexperienced and Has proven that He can have more good games than bad despite defensive coaches studying him heavily.
The Niners got their swagger back. And the Bears are executing their ritual second half collapse to perfection.
Where are all the Jason Campbell fans … thank god the Raiders made the trade for Palmer.
Cutler is the heart of the bears offense / Alex smith is not 49ers are a better team all around compared to low offense and good defense bears
Whose got it better than Colin?
Gummi Bears > Chicago Bears
