Redskins linebacker London Fletcher’s consecutive games played streak is in jeopardy again.

Fletcher sprained his left ankle during Sunday’s 31-6 win over the Eagles and Tarik El-Bashir of CSNWashington.com reports that Fletcher’s ankle is in a walking boot as a result of the injury. Coach Mike Shanahan said Monday that Fletcher would not have been able to practice if the Redskins, who play Thursday in Dallas, had held a practice.

“Knowing London, he’ll be back if possible,” Shanahan said. “But we’ll have to evaluate it day-by-day.”

The Redskins lost safety Brandon Meriweather for the season in the game as well, which could mean the Redskins defense could be pretty short on Thanksgiving. The defense had its best day of the season against Philly, but it has been a poor unit for much of the season.

Fletcher left Sunday’s game after sustaining the injury in the first quarter, but returned to the game and wound up playing 45 of 74 snaps in the game. Fletcher has played in 234 straight games, tied with Ronde Barber for the most among active players. A hamstring injury earlier this season threatened the streak, but Fletcher was able to play despite missing all or most of every practice before the Week Eight game against the Steelers.
