Leaf – Appeared in 25 games over 3 seasons, 4-17 record as a starter…48.4% Completion Rate…50.0 QB rating…3,666 career yds., 146.6 pg average…14 TDs, 36 INTs. Currently in prison on felony drug charges.

Cutler – Appeared in 87 games, all as a starter, over 6+ seasons, 48-39 record…61% Completion Rate…84.1 QB rating…20,097 career yds., 231 pg average…129 TDs, 96 INTs (63 of which came in his first 4 seasons, only 33 in 34 starts since, less than 1 pg avg., and a marked improvement)…Currently still playing, married to Kristin Cavallari and dad to a newborn son.

Yeah…Scary how much alike they are.

Anyone who thinks this will spark a QB controversy in SF hasn’t watched the 49ers play the last two seasons. “Alex the game manager” is a thing of the past. But in case you need proof, here’s what he’s done the last season and a half:

19 wins, 5 losses. 461 comp 730 att for 5,370 yards and a 63% comp rate. 35 TD’s and just 10 Int. That’s a 94.5 QB rating.

He’s no longer just a game manager. Get used to it.

Terrible week to start a back-up QB. Lots of people complain about the starting QB, but now that he’s down with a concussion people might miss him. This D has all-pro LB’s and doesn’t give up a lot of points. They also run the ball well. ______ will win for sure.

As a Bears fan I was hoping he would not play. But for the same reason I was hoping Cutler would not play. It’s one game in the middle of the season. I would rather see both QB’s still playing at the end of the season and rest of their careers. Rather then come back to soon and take a shot to the head that ends it all.
