Saints quarterback Drew Brees, who had a big role in helping New Orleans recover from Hurricane Katrina, is making a big donation to help the folks in New York and New Jersey recover from Hurricane Sandy.
Brees tells CBS News that his Dream Foundation will be contributing $1 million to the relief effort.
While the money won’t be coming directly from the quarterback’s pocket, his effort and time have been devoted to creating, maintaining, and raising funds for the foundation, which then can be given to worthy causes.
Brees also tells CBS News that another $2 million will be given to various New Orleans organizations over the next several months.
If you want to learn more about the foundation and/or make a donation to it, here it is.
The gesture from Brees serves as a reminder that, as the rest of the country prepares for Thanksgiving, plenty of folks are still dealing with the aftermath of the storm that struck less than a month ago.
