When last we brought word of Redskins cornerback DeAngelo Hall interacting with reporters, it was about his response to a question in reference to the $30,000 fine he picked up for an on-field altercation with an official.

“Back up off me, bro,” Hall said.

Hall went a little further on Tuesday. Multiple reports from Redskins beat writers tell the tale of Hall laying into Mike Jones of the Washington Post at the Redskins facility. Rich Campbell of the Washington Times reports it was a “profane, non-physical” altercation that eventually had to be broken up by defensive backs coach Raheem Morris. Campbell reports that Hall and Jones later met calmly to discuss the matter.

Ian Rapoport of NFL.com reports that the issue was a quote from something Jones wrote last week about defensive coordinator Jim Haslett holding one-on-one meetings with members of the secondary in hopes of improving their play. Per Rapoport, Hall disputed a quote that Jones, who hasn’t made any comment, had on tape. If that is the article in question, it’s hard to see what got Hall all hot and bothered.

“Hopefully you’ll see it. Hopefully you’ll see it this week. You’ll see it through the rest of this season,” Hall said in his only direct quote in Jones’ piece.

This one should wind up costing Hall less than his run-in with the official.
