DeAngelo Hall has heated altercation with reporter

When last we brought word of Redskins cornerback DeAngelo Hall interacting with reporters, it was about his response to a question in reference to the $30,000 fine he picked up for an on-field altercation with an official.

“Back up off me, bro,” Hall said.

Hall went a little further on Tuesday. Multiple reports from Redskins beat writers tell the tale of Hall laying into Mike Jones of the Washington Post at the Redskins facility. Rich Campbell of the Washington Times reports it was a “profane, non-physical” altercation that eventually had to be broken up by defensive backs coach Raheem Morris. Campbell reports that Hall and Jones later met calmly to discuss the matter.

Ian Rapoport of NFL.com reports that the issue was a quote from something Jones wrote last week about defensive coordinator Jim Haslett holding one-on-one meetings with members of the secondary in hopes of improving their play. Per Rapoport, Hall disputed a quote that Jones, who hasn’t made any comment, had on tape. If that is the article in question, it’s hard to see what got Hall all hot and bothered.

“Hopefully you’ll see it. Hopefully you’ll see it this week. You’ll see it through the rest of this season,” Hall said in his only direct quote in Jones’ piece.

This one should wind up costing Hall less than his run-in with the official.

  1. DeAngelo Hall is the one Redskin player that I just can’t stand or defend. With his definance and attitude and declining skills, he should be a Dallas Cowboy or Philadelphia Eagle.

  2. Hall seems to have excess heated energy pent up, as of late. If only there was some way to capture it, conserve and funnel all of it to where it truly counts the most… Nuff said.

  3. DeAngelo Hall was “fired” from being a team captain by his teammates over the bye week. Shanahan explained that the team re-voted the captains and that Griffin III now is a captain. By my count, there used to be four: Trent Williams (offense), Fletcher & Hall (defense), Alexander (special teams). Now the captains are Williams & Griffin III for offense, Alexander for special teams, and Fletcher & Bowen & Cofield (defense). Hired three, fired one.

Or join the circus with the Jets…

  5. Overrated player with declining skills, who’s also a meat-head. This type of behavior is NOT going to make him very attractive to teams after he’s released from the Redskins. Well, except maybe to the Jets or Eagles.
Hall’s a real tough guy….getting in people’s faces who can’t give him the smackdown he deserves, because they are mature adults who are doing their job in a professional manner (something Hall knows nothing about).
What a loser. Wish shannahan would bench or suspend this fool for conduct detrimental to the team.

  6. I don’t like Hall, but anytime he wants to go after a mainstream media reporter it’s ok by me. Stick to reporting the news and stop trying to shape the news, guys.

  7. Lay off of DeAngelo. He hasn’t been in trouble off the field – although he has caused plenty of trouble on the field. If he was on your team, which would you prefer?
