Judging by the post-Washington careers of Shaun Suisham and Nick Novak, this is a a dynamite pickup for Carolina. There must be something in the DC area drinking water that cuts off circulation to the legs, because no matter how many 15 yard, game-winning chip shots a guy misses in DC, as soon as he gets the boot from the Redskins, he becomes a franchise kicker somewhere else.

Our punter actually does have the worst average in football, and how many punts have been blocked this year? I would place all best on a punt or two being blocked this week.

I’m sure Gano will go on to be a great kicker since he was cut by the Redskins. It seems every kicker the Redskins cut that signs with another team suddenly learns how to kick again.

Gano will do just fine. But I would have stuck with MedlockThe life of an NFL kicker is crazy. Imagine a QB or WR getting cut for throwing three picks or dropping three passes. WOW.

Cundiff will be signed by someone eventually, maybe when Gano gets cut. There’s only about 35 kickers and they all get gradually recycled for each other. Case in point – Shayne Graham was unemployed for a year, now with Texans.

ACTUALLY, graham gano didn’t compete with cundiff in redskins training camp because cundiff was still with the ravens. graham, instead had a training camp battle with Neil Rackers and even though gano won, as soon as the ravens cut cundiff, the skins cut gano and signed cundiff. thankfully, we have kai forbath now and he’s solid as a rock with a booming leg. gano is good, but inconsistent.

Last week it was the special teams coordinator, this week it’s the kicker, I think the long snapper and punter should be nervous about being next week’s scapegoat.

Feel bad for Medlock, he was the best kicker in the CFL by far, but I guess he just can’t cut it in the NFL.
