Redskins add cornerback Jerome Murphy

With Redskins safety Brandon Meriweather making his first appearance with the team on Sunday and then tearing an ACL during the game, the team has a roster spot to fill.

The Redskins filled it by signing cornerback Jerome Murphy.

The Redskins announced that Meriweather has been officially placed on injured reserve, and that Murphy has joined the team.  A third-round pick of the Rams in 2010, Murphy appeared in 14 games as a rookie.  He missed all of 2011 with an ankle injury.

Cut in early September by St. Louis, Murphy has spent time with the Saints and Lions this season.

Meriweather signed with the Redskins in the offseason.  A knee injury kept him out of action early in the year.  He appeared to be ready to return against the Buccaneers, but a pre-game collision with receiver Aldrick Robinson aggravated the injury.

Anyone else find it interesting how may teams are now depending on players who are brand new (1-2 weeks) after all the emphasis on necessity of having rookies and other players in camp to practice pre-season? Makes all the debate on those final cuts seem pretty irrleevant.

It don’t matter who’s back there cause it’s gonna be the Tony & Dez show come Sunday. Dez owns Hall.

Nice try, Dez hasn’t been on the field for a cowboys win over the redskins. Skins have won the last 3 games they have played… Who owns who??

actually you’re wrong, we got swept last year by the cowboys remember? only team we beat in the division was the giants. dez is gonna give dhall a tough time, but I like our chances against that oline and I like what rg3 brings to the table compared to your turnover machine of a quarterback

Skins will fair well in this one…Do not listen to the pundits or Cowboy fans who cling to any words Skeletor utters…
