Griffin threw a ball to Santana Moss that travelled almost 70 yards in the air, and people call it a “bad” throw. Yeah, sorry he didn’t throw it 80 yards into the endzone. Most qb’s would have came up 10 yards short on that throw and it would have definitely been picked. :facepalm:

Though many are using that pass to excuse or write off Griffin’s amazing day, in actuality, whether or not it was a good pass kind of depends on your opinion of Brett Favre. Favre made a career out of forcing deep balls into double coverage, which is why he set the NFL record for career touchdowns in the same game that he set the record for career interceptions.

On the play in question, Griffin forced the ball into double coverage, relying on Moss to go up and make a play. Personally I thought it was kind of a dumb throw on Griffin’s part, although it was the first pass he’s really forced this season.

What it boils down to is that if you think Favre was a great quarterback, you thought that pass was a great play by Griffin; if you don’t, you don’t. Either way, one play doesn’t discount the rest of a remarkable performance last Sunday.

So 14 for 15 for 200 yards and 4 td’s is better than 24 for 35 for 331 and 3 td’s or 43 for 55 with 527 and 5 td’s? Sorry Brady and Schaub, the NFL needs to sell Jerseys.

Even if Griffin played in the AFC, perfect game trumps amazing stats. No knock on Schaub or Brady, they were both unbelievable in Week 11, but ridiculous passing numbers happen every week, and 158.3 happened for just the 58th time in NFL history on Sunday.

Last time I checked, Brady & Shaub played for the AFC.
