Roethlisberger not scratched yet

Last Tuesday, Steelers coach Mike Tomlin said that quarterback Ben Roethlisberger was questionable for the Week 11 game against the Ravens, with a shoulder injury and a dislocated rib.  The next day, Roethlisberger was ruled out.

This Tuesday, Tomlin said that Roethlisberger is doubtful for Sunday’s game at Cleveland.  To date, however, Roethlisberger has not been scratched.

He didn’t practice on Wednesday or Thursday, with the designation “right shoulder” (not rib).  Until he’s listed as out, there’s still a chance he could play.

Then again, no Steelers players have been ruled out this week, including quarterback Byron Leftwich (ribs) and safety Troy Polamalu (calf).

Receiver Antonio Brown, who has missed the last two games with an ankle injury, has practiced both days on a limited basis.

  1. The way I see the season is over if the steelers lose three more games. The ravens are going to lose to NY, Dallas,Denver and Cincy for sure. Count on it, but wait that could get the ravens another tee shirt. Oh no…lol… Priceless.

  2. It should be duly noted that Tomlin has never acknowledged that Roethlisberger has or had an injured rib, which should alert everyone that the life-threatening “aorta” story is another figment of Roethlisberger’s wild imagination. Naturally, the media ate “the near-death experience” right up.
    Yawn.

  3. Tomlin in fact mentioned the rib and shoulder injury in a public press conference, that is on the record.

Ben will be no more than the 3rd emergency QB this week if he is not scratched. Hopefully he can play against the Ravens, but if not, next man up.

  4. Ben will not play against browns. even though it will not be easy for chuck batch or brian fooled ya or whoever is under pounce. they need him against the purp pigeons the following week in crabcake city to snap that lil winnin streak.
