Danny Amendola doubtful to face Cardinals

The Cardinals probably aren’t going to have to contend with Danny Amendola as they try to snap their six-game losing streak this weekend.

The Rams listed Amendola as doubtful on their final injury report of the week after he missed practice for the third straight day. Jim Thomas of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that the wide receiver is still in a walking boot, which suggests that it will take a pretty monumental change of fortune for him to get on the field against the Cardinals on Sunday afternoon.

Amendola hurt his foot in the first half of last week’s game against the Jets, but he was able to return and play out the rest of the game. That was Amendola’s second game back from a collarbone injury he suffered in the first meeting between the Rams and Cardinals this season. His absence would increase the pressure on Brandon Gibson and Chris Givens to give Sam Bradford the consistent passing attack that the team has lacked whenever Amendola’s been out over the last two years.

Running back Steven Jackson was limited in practice Friday with what’s listed as a foot injury, although it may be more of a rest day for the veteran since he’s listed as probable for Sunday.
