Henne has done this once or twice a season since he got in the league – it’s what keeps getting him a job. It’s the other 10+ games a year that he stinks on ice that keeps him losing those same jobs.

Henne had chances in camp and the preseason and was awful in both. He played against the Raiders earlier this year and was terrible. Some folks are getting fooled by the last two weeks. Henne is what he is. Mediocre.

Chad Henne has had two good weeks in a row. Blaine Gabbert has not put together two good DRIVES in a row.

Vaguely impressive? Sorry but you are wrong. Chad played really well. He led the teams on scoring drives, drives that produced TD’s. He overcame many sacks and still hung in there and did the job well. Blaine has a 5 yard per completion avg. Chad was 17/26 for 261 yards. That’s a 10 yard per completion avg. His rating was 108. Give the credit when it’s due. Chad played well and deserves better than “vaguely impressive”.

Blaine Gabbert is Kyle Boller all over again. Henne is playing well and should he have to compete for his job next year it will not be against Gabbert. Gabbert is not an NFL caliber starting QB.

I don’t like to blame playcalling. It always seems like a bad excuse. That being said, when Blaine has played, the play calling has been terrible. I’ve watched most of the games, and when the offense was clicking, the Jags were in no huddle, Blaine read the defenses, and he marched them down the field. For a few weeks there, his receivers tipped the ball up for a pick, fumbled, or just plain dropped it killing the drive. I don’t want to come off as a Gabbert sympathizer, but he’s still one of if not the youngest quarterback, and i think he has a chance to be very good. If Jacksonville gives up on him, he will go to Arizona or Buffalo and he will have success there. If Chad plays well enough to be a starter, i’m all for giving him the chance. I just don’ t trust him in the long term.

I would agree that Henne deserves a little more love. He’s been rather impressive since he was inserted in relief vs. Indy, and has inspired a weak passing attack/ offense with no identity without MJD. Oh, and he led this team into an absolute thriller against the best team in the NFL. I hardly think he’s fretting losing this job.

I’m guessing he also forgot the great performance last week against a highly ranked texans defense. So to say one good game against a bad d is incorrect. Henne has never played on a team that had any talent around him

Yeah, Henne was pretty good today. That one pick wasn’t his fault either, just a tipped pass that went way up in the air. He’s head and shoulders better than Gabbert so I don’t think it’s much of a question over who would start between the two. I think the real question is if the new GM will be able to find a guy who will start right away next season or sit behind Henne.

He was 17 for 26 with 261yds and 2 TDs. 2 of the 7 sacks were on him. He had a rating of 108. You make it sound like he was fair. I bet anyone would take that on a weekly basis from their QB.
