APBroncos quarterback Peyton Manning said during the week that Willis McGahee’s injury is a great opportunity for Knowshon Moreno. It turns out that Moreno will get his first opportunity on Denver’s first snap.
The Broncos have confirmed that Moreno is the starter for today’s game at Kansas City.
That comes as something of a surprise, because Moreno has been the Broncos’ fourth option for most of the season, behind not only McGahee but also Ronnie Hillman and Lance Ball. Moreno has just eight carries for 15 yards this season.
But Moreno is the guy the Broncos are showing their faith in as the starter, at least for this week. If he doesn’t make the most of this opportunity down the stretch with the Broncos, it may be the last opportunity in Denver for the running back the Broncos took with the 12th overall pick in the 2009 NFL draft.

John Fox is doing this to tweak fantasy owners. Love it.
At least Brian orakpo was available at 12 that year. Thanks mcdouche
I doubt this is a long-term thing. This seems like a team that will rotate which player it features based on matchups, and Moreno has eaten up the Chiefs. I’m just hoping this causes the guy who picked up Hillman to drop him.
Just don’t put the ball on the ground Moreno.
It’s called protecting your investment. Moreno is the best pass protector of the bunch.
In my fantasy league we call him “know show” Moreno.
I feel 100+ today!
I agree, they probably want to see if he’s worth keeping beyond this season. Strikes me as the kind of player who might do well elsewhere but just doesn’t quite fit where he is now.
This guy was ok today, he should do for the rest of the 12 – 4 season I predict this year.
