Steelers lose another tackle

The Steelers came into Sunday’s game against the Browns without starting right tackle Marcus Gilbert, but replacement Mike Adams wasn’t able to make it through the game.

Adams has been carted to the locker room with an ankle injury that looks serious enough to keep him out for the rest of Week 12 at the very least. He’s been replaced by Kelvin Beachum, who made an inauspicious debut when he was flagged for holding to wipe out a long Charlie Batch completion to tight end Heath Miller to convert a second-and-long in the third quarter.

That’s going to make things even more difficult for a Steelers offense that hasn’t been able to find much rhythm to this point in the game. Batch threw an interception, the team’s fourth turnover of the day, and the Browns turned it into a Trent Richardson touchdown to give them a 20-14 lead.

The score remains 20-14 early in the fourth quarter, but the Steelers keep shooting themselves in the foot. Batch was just intercepted again to kill a drive that looked destined for at least a field goal.
