The rout is on in Chicago

The Bears are well on their way to turning things around. The Vikings are well on their way to the first step of a late-season collapse.

A Christian Ponder interception, coming with the Vikings already down 15, has been parlayed into a touchdown pass from Jay Cutler to tight end Matt Spaeth, pushing the margin to 25-3.

The Vikings don’t have the kind of offense to dig out of a 22-point margin. If anything, they’ll press in an effort to pass their way into contention, and things could get worse.

It gets no better next week, when the Vikings go to Lambeau Field. The following week, the Bears roll in to the Metrodome.

In other words, 6-4 could soon be 6-7.
