Bruce Carter headed to IR with dislocated elbow

If the Cowboys are going to make a run, they’re going to have to do it without their leading tackler.

Again.

With linebacker Sean Lee already on injured reserve, they’re going to add linebacker Bruce Carter to that list today, according to Todd Archer of ESPNDallas.com.

Carter needs surgery to repair a dislocated elbow suffered in Thursday’s loss to the Redskins. They’re going to fill his roster spot by signing veteran Brady Poppinga.

That makes four defensive starters on IR for the Cowboys, along with safety Barry Church and defensive end Kenyon Coleman.

Cornerback Orlando Scandrick had surgery on a broken hand last Friday, but remains on the roster.

The Cowboys have also signed wide receiver Anthony Armstrong, to replace Andre Holmes, who was released.

The moral of the story is don’t mess with the Redskins.

Tough break because Carter was playing great. Oh well, looking more and more like another 8-8 season and an offseason hoping for what could be next year, provided we get a head coach who doesn’t insist on calling plays instead of a coordinator and drafting skill position players over linemen because it’s not a headline making pick…

@logicalvoicesays We have been messing with the Redskins since 1960. Cowboys have won 60 times compared to the Redskins 40. So yeah we will keep messing with the Redskins.

Tell me again: why doesn’t the NFL extend the trade deadline? Seems to me that this is the perfect reason to extend it to the end of the regular season: a wounded team desperate to make the playoffs trading for a player from a team with no hope of making the playoffs. But no, the NFL prefers the illusion of playoff hopes rather than reality. Ah Parity, a cruel mistress indeed.

I’m a Dallas fan and I have to say in the situation above Dallas would be the seller, not the buyer

Heck of another blow! Atleast we have best pair of starting inside backers in the league next year :( .

And what happened to Andre Holmes? Thought Jerry thought he was better then sliced bread.
