1bucfan813 – We gave up over 300 yards to the Falcons and their overrated QB, additionally if they didn’t go 80 yards on that one play they would have just gone 80 yards anyways, maybe only 60 of if passing instead of 80. The defense has done well considering the talent, but you’re not going to stop Manning with undrafted free agents that have been called up from your practice squad after being there for 2 weeks. The Bucs have to open up more on offense (although they’ve mostly done a good job with that) and they HAVE to get smarter and not so predictable around the goal line (toss left, throw up for grabs, toss right).

If it wasn’t for the 80 yard catch and run (mis takle ) We problably would’ve gave up last than 300 yards passing. We did better than when we had our top corners and lost 3 games and gave up over 400 yards passing.Our D is a work in progress but to only give up 24 POINTS and losing by a missed field goal, a bad call, a no call, and an iffy call by the refs. Leonard Johnson has played better than Talib so far this year, and EJ Biggers isn’t doing any worse than Wright. So this isn’t a big hit to our team. We’ve overcome adversity all year with Carl Nicks, Joseph, etc going down, next man up is a motto that Greg seems to live by very well.
Hopefully there’s a clause in his contract that makes us able to cut him without taking a full cap hit, so maybe we can go after Grimms this off season.

With corners like EJ Biggers, Myron Lewis, Danny Gorrer, LeQuan Lewis and Leonard Johnson who needs him and Talib. Ugh, it’s going to be a long 5 games. That 4th rounder next year better be a good selection, because there’s a good chance the Bucs miss the playoffs due to lack of depth at corner. Go Bucs!

Why didn’t he start serving last week? He was held out Sundays game due to injury. It’s crazy to think EJ Biggers and Leonard Johnson are our starters. I’m a fanatical Buccaneers fan and against the Falcons in certain Nickle and Dime packages even I was saying, “Danny Gorrer? Who the hell is that?”

jluns, Eric Wright’s failed test was over a month ago and his appeal was filed quietly, though it was reported by the Tampa media. He lost the appeal, thus he is now suspended.

Contrary to what most might think, this isn’t a big blow to Tampa’s (admittedly pathetic) pass defense. Wright has been hurt and wasn’t expected to play much for the remainder of the season anyway.

Considering the Bucs are playing without their top 3 CBs in a position that was already paper thin I can’t believe the Falcons didn’t put up 80 points. Talib traded, Barber moved to safety and Wright out the Bucs on Sunday were playing guys I never even heard of before and now they have to face a real QB in Peyton Manning. If you were betting the over/under on this weeks game, I’d take the over.
