Don’t be angry with “Fireman Ed”. No reason a person should feel “at risk”.

Stop all alcohol sales and watch how many families return to watching all sporting events.

If this trend continues, many young fans will lose their attachment to their teams, in addition to the PSL mess created by the greedy owners.

As far as the Jets, it’s upset win in Super Bowl 3 made the AFL/NFL merger happen quicker, turning players into instant millionaires and owners into billionaires.

That, you can thank the NY Jets for.

Price all us Jets fans paid for that Super Bowl win is 44 consecutive years of frustration.

I dont understand why people are saying he’s a ‘tool’ and ‘good riddance’. And to the guy who said “never heard of him” where have you been, this guy has been prominent part of the Jets for decades, you might want to pay attention a little more to your surroundings.

To the people who are saying he’s walking away from his team: he isn’t. He said he’ll be back, but he needs some time, and then will continue attending games.

That said, if there ever were a team to be walked away from, it’s the 2012 Jets.

Ed says he fpught w fans who say he is on the Jets payroll. While he may nit get a paycheck from the Jets he did get his tickets for free so to some that would be a form of payment. Also IMO as a paying fan u have the right to leave game early but i think if the team is giving u free tickets i think its unacceptable to leave early two weeks in a row.
Im sure the Jets front office was also getting tired of giving this guy free tickets to be the ultimate fan only to have him leave at half time two weeks in a row. He may have quit on his own terms but im sure the Jets were about to make that descion themselves as having him leave games early isnt the example the Jets wanted him to set for their fans when he is gone & in his car at halftime.

The image of Fireman Ed looking like a cigar store Indian after N.E. had piled on 35 points in a half hour was legendary. A permanent scowl just frozen on his face.
And to learn he left the game at halftime and then deleted his twitter account? Sublime.
This current Jets grouping…the Ground & Pound, “can’t wait” N.Y. Jets…are officially finished. However they decide to go about it, they need a whole buncha “new” in 2013.

I was at a sports bar in Manhattan last season when the Jets played the Broncos in Denver. He was in the booth next to us dressed up in his whole “Fireman Ed” outfit acting like a celebrity. Whenever people stopped paying attention to him, he would jump up and start his Jets chant. He was an annoying attention addict.

With his helmet and all, he may as well have been screaming, “Me!! Me!! It’s all about ME!!!!”

People come up with silly costumes or gimmicks like the fire helmet so the TV cameras will show them on TV, it’s all and ego boost, usually they’re just harmless fun, like the Hogettes, or the Raider Darth Vader freaks, but this one and some others seem to be a pain in the other fans’ rear when trying to watch the game, doing things for attention, etc. and they’re just a distracting agggravation
