From what I have read, adderall has very similar characteristics as meth. It gives the player lots of energy and improved short-term endurance. These players probably thought the nfl wouldn’t test for adderall. It’s a serious drug.

I could see where a drug like adderall could benefit a corner, if he took it before game time. It is definitely performance enhancing because it improves your minds ability to focus by about a million times.

I wasn’t impressed with him anyway. On paper he was the bucs best CB but not on the field. He got beat a lot. I say the bucs release him and pick up more FA in the off season or thru draft. The bucs are becoming a team to play for so signing a solid FA CB should be easy.

Frankly, I think if a player comes forward and says, “I tested positive for this drug,” and it’s not the drug they tested positive for, the NFL should be able to at least say, “that’s not the substance for which he was suspended.” Not that they should necessarily be able to reveal the actual substance, but it would at least prevent players from being able to lie about what they’ve been taking in hopes of reducing the PR impact.

Adderall is a narcotic and if you are taking it without a prescription it is a felony. There are a ton of people who abuse it. Kids grind it up and snort it to get high. It is a serious drug.

That aside from the fact that a 100 other idiots have already tried that excuse, so they’ve certainly been warned about Adderall. It should be on the list anyway, if it isn’t already. Book em Dano.

Adderall is the brand name for amphetamine. If you can’t see how taking speed would have a short-term positive impact on a players energy and focus, and thus performance, then there’s no helping you.

The legitimate use of the drug is to treat ADHD. However, the drug also does have street value. If he cannot produce records from a physician, then I would have to suspect he is intact an abuser.

Clearly E-Wright was not watching the Cleveland Browns earlier this season when Joe Haden was suspended 4 games for the exact same infraction. Nobody said these guys were bright.

Adderall is Dexadrine..Speed. It was the original performance enhancing drug, unless you want to count benzadrine separately.

Adderall is a masking agent and stimulant, so the ban applies. Of course I now see every first year college freshman’s’ first physical ending with diagnosed ADHD and a prescription.

C’mon. You don’t really think it was Adderall and that he just forgot to file paperwork do you? Adderall is just the latest excuse. He says it’s Adderall for the exact reason you state above. People, like you, don’t think it is a big deal and feel sympathy for him. It could very well be steroids. The NFL is not aloud to say what it was or what it wasn’t. The players can say whatever they think sounds the best. The bottom line is the guy cheated and his excuse is working with some people.

His excuse is not plausible. Only a complete fool would take a drug like that knowing the consequences of not having “documentation”.

I wonder if something else was motivating him…and others.

Nobody asked me, but I’d be fairly tolerant of recreational drugs like pot, but performance enhancers come with too much risk to the players and the integrity of the records.

The NFLPA ought to get in the faces of their members instead of spending so much time looking for deep pockets to sue.

Always liked Wright in Cleveland and thought he got the short end of the stick after one horrendous game against the Ravens, but Easy-E does have a history in college getting busted for a mega bottle of X.

Not saying it’s directly related, but could be somewhat once you go down that path of “self-medicating”.

We’ll never know though iwth the NFL rules about not confirming or denying an alibi.

The Lions didn’t keep this guy due to character issues.

Even the slappiest of Lions fans are at least a bit disappointed at the lack of maturity the team has showed this season both on the field and off.
