Eagles next coach should be Stanford’s David Shaw. Has NFL experience and has done a great job replacing Harbaugh.

This is a 5 year rebuilding project. you have very few guys that can play in the nfl on this team. maybe brown and cromartie. the rest was built up by the hype machine called the philadelphia eagles. look at the draft this year. yes boykins and curry were just sitting there later than expected because the rest of the league is dumb and wants to help you win. boykins can’t cover anyone. If i want someone who consistently returns kickoffs to the 21 yard line i’ll call brandon and curry first played last night. oh and yes demeco ryans was the answer. yes houston was just dieing to help the eagles meet their dream of a sb so they traded the great ryans to the eagles. one of the best defs in the nfl doesn’t give up on a guy that can play. he’s avg at best and his best years are behind him but the birds sold his as the messiah. stop it philly. it’s just an overrrated group of individuals to go along with an overrrated coach. guy has been avg since they went to the sb and especially after jj died. the inmates are running the asylum and it stinks to high heaven. enjoy the stank philly fan. it’s gonna be while.

It’s funny how people say the Eagles won’t find anyone better yet there are plenty of other teams that have found competent head coaches over the last 13 years. Even Gruden was commented on how Andy lined up to go for the two point conversion, showing his formation, before the booth got a chance to confirm the touchdown…….. His brand of football is good from afar but far from good. Tired of Groundhog Day in Philly. At least it used to be just losing the NFC championship. Now it has turned into mediocrity at best.

Anyone that says Andy Reid’s entire reputation isn’t based on Jim Johnson’s genius isn’t paying attention. Without his D, the Reid led Eagles wouldn’t have been anything. Can’t wait to see how badly he fails at his next job. He’ll actually be a perfect fit for the failures that have roamed the SD Chargers sideline.

Please let Andy go. Bring in Chip or Gruden or maybe someone that runs a 34 defense. Get an overhaul on that offensive line keep Peters and Heremans. And for the love of God idc if you must bring Brian Dawkins back fron retirement but he still would be playing better than those bums at safety. Let aso go, hesa bust free agaent maybe the Lions may want him. The Eagles have skill at most positions but its the general philsophy to pass twice as much as you run it that loses you games. I understand the BEST LT in football got hurt, but find a replacementvia draft. Vick is a good QB with some turnover issues but hes as good or better thab any rookie ceiling in that draft. Restructure the contract but keep Vick, not his fault his oline isnt blocking. Maybe since your oline coach qas coaching D maybe has something to do with it.
Its andys time, i dont think a coach should out grow his stay longer than a franchise Qb that lead you to 4 NFC chipgmss

Ried will be fired but that’s not even close to providing an answer to all their problems.

I would begin with hiring a new GM and let him hand pick his next coach and QB. As for all that high price talent, let the new GM purge that bloated payroll and give it a full two years before the Eagles are competitive again.

Lurie DID say that 8-8 wasn’t good enough, that expects more out of the team, and that they would evaluate all options after the season. That’s different than what you keep saying.

dynast77; He DID say that. The exact question asked by reporter Jeff McLane earlier this year was “Is 8-8 good enough for Andy to return”. That was the exact question (look it up). Luire replied, “No, it is not”.

The question was not “Is 8-8 good enough” it was “It is 8-8 good enough for Andy to keep his job”. So the article is right.

You are right that Lurie said he would evaluate the team at the end of the season. But the decision on Reid is a made. If Andy could have finished 9-7, then he’d wait until the end of the season to make a decision, but now with 8-8 being the best, the decision is made (although he might wait until the end of the season to announce it).

I remember a couple of years ago everybody was calling for Gary Kubiak to get fired but instead the Texans went out and hired Wade Phillips to run the defense .And now they’re one of the best teams in the NFL.I think the Eagles ought to keep Andy Reid as head coach but hired a really good defensive coordinator to rebuild the defense plus hire Juan Castillo back to rebuild the offensive line.And then go get Alex Smith or Matt Flynn to be the QB and let Nick Foles learn under them.

Best thing for the Eagles to do is leave Reid to flap in the wind and keep losing ….thus a much higher draft pick. If you bring in a new guy now they could win a few games on the change of message….bad move since they are going nowhere this year. Keep Andy and keep losing is the best course.

One more side note to add, do you remember the Eagle fans boosting about the win against the Giants, by a field goal that was 2-feet short mind you, but a win is a win, anyways that was the last time they won a game, Fact: The Philadelphia Phillies have won a game more recently than the Eagles, sad but true.
So you beat the Giants and how is that working out for you?

Bad news Eagle fans, there is no Luck or RG3 in the upcoming draft so its going to be a tired, slow and painful rebuilding process and I am loving every minute of it.

A recent NFL coach of a Pennsylvania team made a disastrous change to his offense in his 12th season, handing the ball to a wild gunslinger of a QB who had previously been an NFL bust.

His team had a disastrous losing season. It was his 3rd losing season in his past 6. The locals went crazy – they could smell blood in the water. Finally, after all these years they would get their wish and the coach would be fired.

That offseason, his team had a high draft choice, and one of the top 3 QB’s in the draft fell into that coach’s lap. That Pennsylvania NFL coach rode that new big-armed QB to a conference championship and a Super Bowl victory.

His name was Bill Cowher.

Andy Reid is exactly one year removed from Cowher’s career arc. Fading quickly in his 13th season with a wild gunslinger of a QB who was a previous NFL bust. And he’s about to get a high draft pick (and probably a big-armed QB) in next year’s draft. Jeffrey Lurie might want to give Art Rooney a call before handing out pink slips.

Andy’s reputation within the organization and his relationship with Lurie is probably enough to get him through the season. If it isn’t, the fact that his players love him and there’s no one on the staff that is worth giving a look as a potential HC should be. Also, Andy is definitely the best guy to give the Eagles the most thorough look at Nick Foles before they do a much-need house cleaning.

Firing Andy isn’t going to do anything to improve this team for this season. And unfortunately, the two current coordinators are equally inept. Andy created this mess through bad decisions like Castillo as DC, the wide-9 and the draft (Jaquan Jarrett and all of those fastball DEs). This is going to take a major overhaul that requires a couple of seasons. As an Eagles fan, I have no faith in Howie Roseman as GM and am concerned the team is going to wander in the desert for many years until Lurie fixes that position along with HC. Hopefully, they lose the rest of their games and Lurie comes to the realization that he needs a real football guy at GM to oversee the complete process of rebuilding.

Not an Eagles fan, but to fire this guy after all the success the Eagles has had with him is a mistake. Reid will have no problems finding another job.. He is the only coach to get high draft picks for garbage pail quarter backs. Who is out there? Gruden? He inherited Dungy’s team, and then quickly turned Tampa into garbage. There is also many accusations of him be a back stabber by the players. Cowher? First how many coaches have won a superbowl with 2 different teams? Look how long it took him to get to a Superbowl. Then if you get some college coach, or coordinator, then its a coin flip.. You don’t know what your getting.. Could go back to Kotite years. I don’t think Reid will have any problems bouncing back, but I think the Eagles will.

He’s not going to fire him, there will be a bowlan/shanahan type press conference at the end of the year, except this time there will be no surprises. Surprised Gruden didn’t mention he’d love to coach the eagles tonight, he usually says that about every team he covers. Interesting.
