I don’t understand how an option bonus can be fully guarenteed. That makes no sense to me.

The big thing about this deal is that it’s injury protected. The only way the money is not guaranteed is if he gets cut. I feel more than safe in saying that if he ever gets cut there will be 31 other suitors looking to sign this guy. This is actually a very smart contract for Bowman and in no way did he get taken to the cleaners. Most “guaranteed” money in the NFL is not truly guaranteed due to other language in the contract. I am a fins fan, but huge kudos to bot Bowman and the 9ers on this one.

Ridiculously good deal for SF. I’m sure it doesn’t hurt that the Niners will be a SB contender for the next 4 years, barring unforeseen circumstances.

When I saw the name Bowman in the headline I was hoping it was Navorro. I was trying to figure out if there was another Bowman in the league. It has been bitter sweet watching Bowman knowing that we can’t afford him and Willis. So much for that. Great signing.

Rosenhaus was unable to get jack for Goldson either.. hence why he still has no long term deal. Even switching agents didn’t get him there. For Every good agent there is at least one GM that always has their way with them..

No he won’t. Bowman is a high character player and wants to stay next to big brother. He will play out this deal or receive yet another extension just like Willis..

Baalke steps to the plate… here comes the offer and crack another home run.. much credit should go to Marathe as well though. He is shrewd when it comes to cap crunching. This is a HUGE value signing for the niners though. Baalke sets the price and almost never budges
