I notice that this blog hasn’t bothered to mention Ron Jaworski’s comment that there’s no way this was intentional unless Suh was a ninja. But then again … views that contradict the predefined narrative aren’t always welcomed here are they?

The obsession with hating the Lions is beyond tabloid trash.

Btw – Suh’s latest traffic offense is a speeding ticket. Oh no! He’s an out of control madman! He’s driving with a leadfoot (like everyone else in Metro-Detroit)!

I agree with Schwartz – all the players should hire drivers. They can afford it, and it will save a lot of hassles.

Suh is dirty and drives even drunker and dirtier. He is not a nice guy on the field or off, no matter what school you went to or what pro team you root for. A dirt bag is a dirt bag. No matter how well he speaks.

If you want to talk about a guy who got a raw deal for being dirty- Sean Taylor, pillar of the community and a few dirty hits, but a pillar of his community and respected his opponents and by his opponents. And I am not a Redskin fan.

Suh should be suspended for the rest of the season but the NFL is letting him get away with ANOTHER dirty play. I say play his game…CHOP BLOCK HIM. take out his knee
then maybe he will get it. Im saying coach the offensive linemen and TE and full backs to take turns going after his knees.. BOLD

Suh is a marketable player. That’s all this is. Historically, the NFL has a handful of quarterback darlings, a couple stud RBs, and a few defensive stars.

As for the other players picking suh the dirtiest player, were all players on all teams polled, and if so when do they find the time to watch all of the lions games? I think they are voting based upon what they read in the media, much like most fans.

I’m no suh fan, but its so easy to see when the scape goats chosen. Was Harrison two years ago, now it’s suhs turn, and coming soon to the Internet your favorite player on your team.

Really, he should be. At a time when players routinely fork over five-figure amounts for illegal hits that aren’t applied intentionally, how can the league not fine Suh for a deliberate shove of his foot into the crotch of Schaub? Unless Suh’s leg had a Constanza-style spontaneous arm spasm, it was no accident.

You are a homer. The players voted him most dirty. The dude has had to meet with Goodell to explain himself. Nobody questions his talent. I’m a Longhorn (Texas) fan and when he shredded McCoy in the Big 12 Championship game I knew he was a beast.
I’m surprised, very, that he does not have more unsportsmanlike penalties this year because they are there. When he body slammed Cutler, should have been a flag. When he jacked Schaub in the nuts, should have been a flag… The thing is- he is sorta perfected the art of of the gray, cheap shot play. Hard to determine intent which is why he was not suspended, he will be fined. Officials are taught to watch for head hunters. The cameras into the room of every fan catches more than officials looking for blatant fouls (IE. holding, helmet to helmet, face mask etc). The Schaub play in question- I mean, when is the LAST time you’ve seen this?? Think HOMER, think. I’m always amazed how fans become so subjective for a dude that, lets face it… Is not from Detroit and could leave in free agency in a few years. Then what? You still calling him a choir boy?
Suh is a problem because he tries to basically impose his will by ANY means necessary, inside or outside the rules and Whistle. With his talent, that’s why he’s a problem and why the players view him as dirty.
But you wait for your report like Brees is waiting for an explanation for bounty gate!!

Ndamakong Suh… top 5 in the league for sacks among DTs all year, constant pressure and clean hits on opposing QBs, no personal fouls (1 penalty, for offsides). Yet somehow he is trash, garbage, and underperformer, yada yada yada.

the dude slapped it away and Bunkley kicked his helmet

it was instinctive not even the same as a stomp on a helmetless player

I’ve never in my life seen the media push a player as a super villain as much as they are doing it with Suh. There’s been like 8 negative articles on this site about him in 2 days. This is so overboard its making me like him more and more.

We can avoid illegal contact and unnecessary ruffness penalties easily. 1 referee will be armed with a tazer gun and when a player becomes unruly, the ref will use his discression regarding subduing said player. Referee’s will then review the tazing as the player recovers. If the referee find the tazing was justified, no fine to player.

I’m not a Suh fan. If I owned the Lions, he’d be playing in Jacksonville, or some other NFL wasteland.

However, last night during MNF they played a different angle, and in that angle (from behind left of the QB) you don’t see a kicking motion as Suh goes to the ground. It looked like a smooth arc.

Two people I was with commented that from that angle it didn’t look like it was “on purpose.”

Merton Hanks most likely had several other angles he could look at too. If they looked as unpremeditated as the one we saw last night, the league would have a hard time justifying a suspension.
